I thought yearbook was really good. I wasn't too sure the first couple of times i watched it, but after a while it grows on you. The editing is really well done, and all of the parts are good overall. The music wasn't bad at all, compaired to what i thought it would be. Im definatly a fan tho

yea, it was def better than i heard, and abma blew me away, that opening line was amazing

Pollards segment made me sick. Landing ridiculous 9s in pow like he didn't care, and his cork 3 is so fluid..

I dream of winter.

^t-rainville was sick. BUTTERS, shiz so good

and abma surprised me as well. good rider and chill guy. the whole movie was a lot better then I expected. lots of BASE jumping though

->Colleen

Not necessarily stoned, but beautiful

I can't wait to get it.

Chris: But I heard that in tanning booths you can get something called Melenoma

Peter: Don't worry son that's just fancy talk for sexified.

yearbook sucked. The riding was good, and MSP definitely knows how to get good shots. They also have a ridiculous budget which allows them to get ton of crazy heli shots.

But they do nothing creative with it. Every clip of the movie is in super slow mo. They used 2 songs from previous poorboyz, and other than that, it was all similiar sounding generic rock. Basically what they always do. It was also long as hell.

I'm pretty sure MSP movies are aimed at people in their 30s, and watch a ski movie to see what crazy kids are doing these days.

If MSP used their budget to film a smaller number of people, and did somethign different for a change, they might have something really good. Until then it's like they just take all their clips and throw them in the same template they use every year.

I have to say the shots on that whistler jump where it looks like the skiers are 3000 feet up are in fucking credible

i thought it was pretty good, especially abma, hall, and rainville's segments, but way too much big mountain stuff that got old

*Laura*

my mom has like 15 prada bags........ ATLANTASKI

how can u guys say a ski movie sucks, i just dont get it, everyone is soo negative on this site

-Matty

Kill his family and then at his funeral show him the videotape of you killing htem and then when he starts crying throw flour at him and shove poo in his nostrils. -Mikee talking about getting revenge on hackers

tanner hall's butter into 3 in the powder was dope. too much parachute footage tho. the rotating camera scenes are incredible.

I havent really thought any ski movie sucked. I just like watching skiing cuz its watching something I love to do. I even still watch Centsless sometimes, even though the skiing is pretty low-level stuff. I still watch Salad Days, which was given shitty ratings, and I think its still pretty sick.

Not every ski movie is going to have insane breakthrough segments with nuts tricks.

that is quite jibtastic, sir.

the camera work in that movie was amazing. but i dident like the style it was edited. but still a good movie to watch if you get the chance.

HEY! Let's start EVERY segment with a 12 minute long clip of a medicore 3 in the park! And let's give it a decieving angle so it looks a lot bigger than it really is!

Some parts were good though, Rainville is sick but I bet other films are going to give him even more justice as a skier.

as much as i want to agree that saying a ski flick sucks is stupid. the fact remains that it is a movie and movies get critiqued.

its lame to bash amature clips, but this is professional work with professional skiers, we have a right to say we dislike it for this reason or another.

i havnt even seen the goddamn movie and im raving about this shit....

wow what other movies have you people seen so far??

other than too much parachute stuff which was like 3 songs long and made the mocie seem too long, I thought year book was amazing. so much better than X and the first msp movie i really liked. the camera work was the best i have ever seen. i hope high five and redtape are just as good.

I HATE NY PRODUCTIONS

constructive criticism.....yeah, constructive criticism. but really being in that position there are some set expectations. MSP has been around the block a few times, they have the funding, and the big names in production and talent.

Both of the tanners' segs were just crazy! and pollard. and ingrid has the only girl seg in a movie that I have ever liked. I thought it was a pretty kick ass movie. I am buying it. I dont really buy movies for editing. I buy them for the skiing

Jesus saves!

Gretzky gets the rebound. he feeds the puck to LeClair. he shoots! he scores! the crowd goes wild

the only thing i dislike about yearbook is shane mcconkney's base jumping over and over again, i just think its super boring to watch thats all

Wentworth NS

hey angelic rage, you know whats even worse than starting the segments with a 3? when they start one off with a cork 810 disaster, thats so damn lame

roles royce is a car to be driven in, bently is a car to drive.

msp movies are always the same. they are always long, they always have a lot of big mountain, and they always have some non-skiing shit (base jumping, or snowmobiling). i thought yearbook was ok overall with some sick ass segments. dumont and olenick's parts were off the meatrack. same with abma and pollard.

$$SPINNER$$$ did you actually enjoy how most segments started with extrememly slow mo shots of mediocre skiing in the park? and by mediocre I mean not doing the skiing any justice.

^^^I agree. I am not a big fan of stian.

I just went to the premiere in montreal yesterday night

I tought it was a good movie but I wouldn't buy this movie at all it has sick ass segement but the editing is the exact same thing with every part with almost only slow-motion tricks, personaly I like movies with intensity, with momentum, and msp has nothing to do with that...

the only segment i can think of that starts off with a slow-mo 3 is tanner hall's.

that 5 i think it was of abmas with the critical grab he held for so long was the sickest shot in the whole movie by far

What Stian fucking rules. He has beautiful skiing style. He's so smooth and he hauls ass over everything. I love watching him because he's so fluid. Sure he doesn't huck huge cliffs like some guys but he not some stunt monkey. The guy can ski like no other. I hope he sticks around because for big mountain I love him.

Rainville's seg was soo good. And I still can't figure out why, in all of the Yearbook threads, that I'm the only one who loved Steele's seg. I really like his style it's a lot like Peter's. Non of that guerilla shit just really nice and smooth in th air.

the day MSP takes all the goddamn monologues out of their films will be the day i say i totally love an MSP movie

its an alright movie, but me being from the midwest, cant appreciate all the BC because all it does is make me jealous. I liked last years films better because there was more rails and such in them and thats all the midwest is good for.

fuck a book

yea, i diffenetly dont understand why anyone doesnt appreciate the bc stuff. Unlike the park where you know exactly wat to expect BC requires you to adapt to the conditions. I thought all those shots from the heli at the jump in whistler where amazing. Tanner hall is so damn smooth. Also, i liked seths segment even if it was short, he is by far the best skiier in the world.

LOVELAND OPENS FRIDAY

Yeah that one licoln he did was sick. But all those landings looked brutal. I bet he was hurting bad after all that.

i thought the cinemtography in this movie was insane and its def worth seeing this movie atleast for that reason, but i don't think i could watch it more than a few times. the amount of slow motion they used put me to sleep. personally i don't like watching park footage having to imagine how smooth the trick 'really' is. i was glad that pollards 9 was close to full speed though!
