I was looking back at a few of my posts earlier about the new film from MSP, and i said some stupid stuff. Especially when these guys helped me get started and are still my heros, no matter what happens. I wanted to clear everything up about my base jumping comment, and what i thought of it. The movie was awesome, and i was just jumping on a bandwagon when i said that. Yearbook will still get movie of the year, because it will be. So cheers, and go see it when it comes to your town.

They make awesome travelogues. I don't think they've made a ski movie in over a decade. Thats whats wrong with them.

 
Yeah I retract my thread about the movie. After watching a few times I'm really really starting to like it.

As for NASM I can't wait to see it. I think it will be like a better version on X with a little different roster.

you guys have no appreciation for MSP. All I hear about is Poor Boyz this and NASM that. Get away from your jibbing comfort zone and have some respect for the different disciplines of skiing. 'they don't have enough park' whine whine whine. if you want to watch park, go to a mountain and watch it. if you want to see something that you probably will never see or ski in person....go watch Yearbook

I heard that MSP outbid TGR for movie of the year this year.

Powder actually puts the title up on a private ebay auction and lets the companies bid for it. Crazy but true.

 
i usually like MSP movies a ton. ski movie 3 and focused, i thought, were amazing. but i think yearbook is lacking quite a bit. sure, there are many epic shots, but that cant carry the whole movie, which in parts, was rather boring

 
im kind of stoked to see yearbook, and telejibber you have a really good idea of what NASM is.

yearbook is the shit. i'd rather pay some firm 20 bucks to go film some shit out of a helicopter than non-stop park.

go watch some of the 04/05 snowboard flicks... msp is the only one that can compete in style and scale. even last season, session 1242 was cool and but focused blew it away.

I saw yearbook a while back and and i want to impressed. I think that Focused was much better movie than Yearbook. The only good segment i think was Mark Abma at the beginning but after that it alll went down hill.

Yearbook has a ton of good segments. Mark's is obviously amazing. Then there is Steele's which no one has really talked about but the more I watch it the more I thnk it's one of the best I've ever seen. That kid is soo smooth. Both Tanners are really good. CR and Pollard both have good but short segs. Hugo kills the big mountain and you've go to like all the great pow shots in Chris Dvenports part. Oh yeah and Rory Bushfield's part is also really good. I'm even starting to like the soundtrack. Overall I think it's a killer movie that's very well rounded and representitive of everything that is going on in skiing right now.
