Year round skiing in Buffalo, NY?

The newest idea to develop our piece of crap waterfront is to build a big dome thing with all kinds of stuff in it. Including 'snowboarding', as all the news reports say. it looks like they are pretty serious about doing it and groundbreaking could begin in about a year. It may not be great skiing but it sounds pretty cool. I'll take indoor skiing 20 minutes from my house any day.

 
that would be sick, i think i have heard of places having half pipes indoors, that would be cool if they did that

there is a few indoor ski/snowboard hills in japan...dont know how well they work though. but yea there was a 1/2 pipe at one in japan.

i'm in Hamburg NY every summer for 2 weeks, hahaaaa this will be awesome, except for lugging my gear down there......

they got this fake snow shit now too. its like solid but its all bendy and shit its really strange i cant remeber where i saw it. they make halfpipes out of them and they dont melt. somebody posted it up here once if you know who you are out it up again.

Yeah, I saw it to. They really are serious about doing this because our city is in desperate need of something to draw in tourists and interest because it's falling apart fast, and if they do this, it will SURELY bring in tourism from all over. It's gonna be almost like a massive amusement park type idea kinda. I'll try to find more information.

ha, nice, but how big would it be and how much would it cost to go to? i'm thinkin it'd be insainly expensive but sweet anyways, i'd go for sure if i got a car for a week

they were gonna build something like that in the toronto area but they couldn't for some reason. I'll definitly be making a couple trips there once it opens it's only an hour and a half away.

yeah I live in the city and I've heard that they want to build this indor theme Park, but I havent heard anything about the snowboarding.

 
the toronto one was cancelled (it was going to be on the old airforce base near Idomo, the store with the crazy beard guy for prez) because the 'neighbours' thought it would bring in too much traffic. BAH

mike, yeah, it's the same guy. He tried toronto but had toruble obtaining land. Then he had the same problem in Montreal, so he tried Buffalo, and turns out there is more then enough perfectly located downtown, waterfront space.
