YAY! I got word today, that there will be Skier comp(s) at Boulder.

Okay... here is the deal. For some unknown reason our reps, who handle ski gear are not stepping up to the plate. SO all you sponsored kids who ride at Boulder get on their butts to support some comps! Apparently the snowboarding end of snowsports is tossing stuff. Now granted, Ian and others are all riders so.. I'll do my part to help get the word out. Discuss here or message me if you want more info.
 
i dont get it. are there scheduled events or are they just looking to see if there is interest?
 
i still don't see why it should be our (those of us who have connections with reps) job to get companies to sponsor events. sure, i'll help out with that at blue, because its blue, i've skied there for years, and one of my best friends has his hand in a lot up there, but i don't have any personal ties to anyone at boulder that would make me want to do their work for them. i'm sure someone can come back at this by saying that we all have to do our part to help skiing grow in legitimacy or whatever, but boulder hasn't given me anything that makes me want to give back.
 
I was told that the snowboarding reps are throwing stuff at them and that the skiing reps are ............trying to remember quote. I sort of understand. hahahaha we all would probably be the same way if we were working promotion. We would make cursory calls to the snowboarding reps and make the best pitch we can and probably wouldn't come across enthused enough. Without a solid race program at JFBB they probably aren't getting that angle either.
 
I think its mainly the fact that the freestyle boarding industry has more money to toss around right now than the freestyle ski industry. I'll explain more if necessary...

 
papasteeze, you should talk to jenny. ill talk to my rep and see what they can do -- i mean...that company has so much fucking moneeeyy they should be able to help with at least one jam.
 
uhhhhh.. I think sno has her locked in due to the academy thing. my god you have come a long ways rather quickly. hahahaha anyways, it is up to Ian to procur contacts not me/us. now if Jesse asked for some help, sure.. I just really don't and haven't cared for Ians attitude towards skiers.
 
yaa it sucks. i was supposed to ride for boulder last year and he backed out on me. eehhh whatever hopefully some good shit happens this year
