Yashica Rangefinder Repair...

Anybody have any experience repairing rangefinders?

I have a Yashica Electro 35CC and overall it is in great shape, however I can't focus via the rangefinder (there's no overlapped image/frame). My guess is that either a reflective coating has been damaged (perhaps due to improper cleaning by a previous owner) or a mirror within the rangefinder isn't moving as it should be (more likely).

Before I take it apart, I'm just curious if anyone has any history with a similar repair.

I've found the repair manual for the camera and am prepared to take it apart...but figured I would see if any of the film nerds on here had any other ideas.

Thanks!

whoa. Not even sure how you found this in the depths of this forum. Pretty specific.

I guess as an update: took it apart, but since it's a common issue with these cameras, I didn't have any luck finding usable parts to replace.

If anyone is interested, I use an Olympus XA in its place. It's a wonderful little camera, easy to travel with and simple.
