Y???? i am always afraid to try new things! i am sucking the park up this year....i cant even land a clean 360 over a table, i get confused about which way to spin.....its weird

Don't beat yourself up to much man. Most people play a constant battle with fear. relax, take lots of deep breaths, don't think so much about getting rid of the fear, but how you can channel it into what you are trying to do. Relax and except the out come if you fall. You must comit to the jump the whole time/ take your time before you hit it. try skiing in the park without your friends there to presure you. Picture yourself doing the jump and it will be so. Hero's get remembered, but legends never die.

i fell ya dog... hahaha, i been woosin out, just throw some HUGE straight airs or grabs and itl help

friend: You went to the ski store? Whatd u get?

me: I got head baby.

friend-in awe-: FROM WHO!?!?!

me: the guy behind the counter, i think his name was matt. Ya well he seemed pretty cool, didn't do much talkin. Got right to business; helped me with what i needed. Damn was he a good one. He coulda sold me some 10 year old skis if he wanted.

J-Dubbs, rockin the head skis!

spin left.... im mean right....no mabey its left.....oh fuck i dont know...

i spin left and i just give her shit and throw them. if you dont do it this year you will be one year older when you do.

-Cause im a Cracka-

i find when spinning it is best to look at your skis and line em up also spotting the landing underneath. i get confused when i can see the horizon. this is not the most stylish way to spin but it may help u out.

I am not dong the grabs because I am getting a thrill out of touching my ski-JP Auclair

Ski Instructer: It is SO wrong to hit someone over the head with your pole

Some Kid: But you hit me over the head with your pole!

Ski Instructer: I was just demonstrating how wrong it is.

Stand up, right now. Jump and spin. Either way, see whats easier.

Grab a pen, and scribble down the direction on the lense of your googles. You won't forget now ;)

I'm hoping to bust a 360 tomorow this year. 180 Liu Kangs are fun, but I want to land forward...

i was the same way last time. alls it takes is confident, remeber start small, spining off small jumps..ect, then you will build up your confidence. there is a learning process. so dont feel bad

It happens to a lot of ppl. Im gettin real down on myself lately not landing clean 3s w/grabs especially over big tables. Its pretty pathetic but Id rather do a backflip/lincoln than a 360. Just keep huckin and get some confidence, if you arent on your game one day and keep fallin, do some stock tricks, get your confidence up and when your feelin it, go for whatever youre workin at. Maybe itll be your next time out, maybe itll be at the end of the season or maybe at summer camp (if you are fortunate enough to go). Dont try and rush it, 98/99% of us on this board are not training for the US Open.

i can do switch 3's easier than normal 3's. i just learned switch 3's today, then tried a normal 3, and when i got around i was sideways, adn when i landed i heard something pop in my back. it doesn't hurt anymore, but can someone tell me what i am doing wrong?

thanks guys....its cool knowing other people have the same troubles as i do...the thing is i spin fine both ways, but it depends on the kind of jump im doin, its weird...not stuff u guys can help me out on

i ahve no trouble busting out huge grabs and shit but when i go to spin over a table its weird....i just gotta keep trying

its just the confidence and balls taht need to be worked on....i wanna try all this stuff so bably but i always wuss out, i tried a front flip once this year but i wont try it agian for some odd reason....i dunno but any advice will help

Hey, what ya got to do is when your standing at the top of the inrun just ask yourself 'do I want to do this?'.

If you really want to try the trick you will have alot more confidence than if you dont. If your only trying three's because the people your skiing with are telling you to. Then yer gonna fuck up. You have to want to do every trick to do it good.

If you dont want to do a certain trick then dont, who cares what people will say. The difference between a big bag of tricks and a small bag of tricks is all mental. Later.

i have the same problem as Jodi mentioned, i get stuck in 180 mode or i screw myself and land sideways..its stupid because i know i can land medium sized 3's but its all a mental thing. if you have done them before just say screw my stupid self and go pull the thing.

you'll be happy you did then kick yourself for being gay and wussing out. I understand the fear part its always a stupid factor that gets in the way

It is unfortunate when everything seems to be going really good and the girl uses a word like 'dont', or 'stop'. If she learned to use these two words in unison, everyone would be much happier.

To figure out the best way in which you would like to spin, pick a flat spot on the ground and just practice spinning 3's until you feel confertible with a direction.

When on the slopes this is what i did to learn a three.

I spin left, so I stuck my left hand out horizontaly to my left side and tuned my head left tilting and looking a little toward the ground. Don't forget to pop off the lip.

I Watched my left hand until I saw the landing. Once you have it spoted the landing keep your eyes on it and stick it. Once you have enough practice and feel confident, try different moves.

Throw 3' off every thing, it does take practice.

Good luck.

its not really the 360s that are th problem...cuz i can do em, just not over long tables

its learning new stuff that i know i could do but dont have the balls to do

Yeah, Yeah, I agree. And then I just go for it and 9 times out of 10 I'll nail it first go coz I've been visualising it in my head for so long. Then I just think 'What the fuck was I worried about, that wasn't so bad. Lets go even bigger this time!' - and then I wuss out again !!!!

Oh well, 3 steps forward and 2 back, eh. At least I'm still making progress!
