dude... fuck you... i live 30 minutes away from Aspen in Basalt with all my mexican homies... i am 200 feet from the 7-11, but i drive my ass 30 minutes to school every morning in Aspen because it is a dope school, and the same for skiing... so i guess i am aspen rich right? not even close, the only reason i moved here is to ski and school, and i dont even live in aspen... my parents arent millionares, i also wear baggy clothes, maybe not as baggy as mr. wickes up there... but the fact that you are telling me that i cant wear the clothes how i want because on my skin color and where i live... i suppose now you are gonna say i cant smoke pot because i dont live in jamacia?
 
i wuv aspen it has way more of a community than most ski areas in all of co. which most don't realize but back to the point obermyer prolly makes XXL shirts
 
ok maybe im talking based on sterotypes, but when you compare aspen to 98% of the cities on the east coast its about a million times nicer and the poeple there have a shit ton more money, maybe if your from aspen you dont think your sheltered or that there are a lot of rich people, but when you actually go there, coming from the east coast where everything is a lot shittier, it definitely seems like it, yes im sure there are some poor people, but compared to the rest of america aspen is an extremely rich and nice place, you just cant deny that, and that is what im basing my opinion on, not the personal experiences of each of you, if your not super rich and spoiled then good for you, but if your denying the fact that aspen is an extremely rich town then your just proving how sheltered you are
 
Aspen is not an extremely rich town. The "tourists" that come there are.

What is it that you want to hear? You're more of a thug than white kids in Aspen? Fine, no one is claiming to be.

maybe you need to reread my last post, but i never said all of you were rich, but it is a fact that you are more sheltered, just because aspen is not a diverse place at all, i dont see how you can argue with the fact that you are much more sheltered living in aspen than any big diverse city

alright since you are the only ingorant fool in here... first, you have gone to high north atleast the last 2 years, i dunno if you or your parents paid it, but you can afford to go... i am a rich white kid who def deserves it more than you, and i cant afford to go at all... even with my own working money... i help my parents pay for my rent here with my job... 2) i dont know what diverse is? well, my dad was born and raised in the south side of chicago, i visit their often, and usually i am scared shitless, i dont know how my grandparents survive, and i am thankful i dont have to live there... but what does that have to do with how i dress?
 
i think being privelaged to live in Aspen and being lucky enough for ur family to have money you actually become less sheltered. a lot of kids who ski have traveled a shit ton and got to experience different cultures and situations. I dont mean to brag at all and i am thankful for my parents for providing me for such situations but I have of course been to cities like Denver, lots of areas around colorado that arent Aspen type, I did community service right in the hood of the bronx for a week, canada, europe, japan for some exchange, mexico. i know where americans go is toursity in mexico but ive been around other areas. i am very thankful for these experiences and everything isnt just great here. my mom actually has a foundations where she helps underprivelaged people in this valley and i have worked with her on projects. u are sheltered i guess. if u still think the same about aspen kids come say it to my face next time u see me.
 
some are but you can't count that as everyone, half of our school lives in not so wealthy places, just like most major ski resorts there are richer people then others, stop giving aspen a bad name, its bullshit
 
last time i checked the size of your clothes had nothing to do with the color of your skin.

remmeber kids, rock also started from black people. so did jazz, so did soul, and so did most modern music. but they were nice enouhg to let white people in on the deal too.

black people were probably the first ones to make mesh hats fashionable, brimmed beanies, toques, baseball hats, big logos, etc...but guess what? they were nice enouhg to let white people in on that too.

oh id like to add that ghettos were first started by the germans to house all the jews, so if your basing judgements on the roots of certain cultures, then saying someone is wannabe ghetto is saying they want to be a jew. not exactly black now are they.

i personally dont think its cool when white skier dudes wear all those ghetto ass clothes, but then again, unless you know the guy, you dont know their background like where they came from, and they may be a real chill dude, so theres no point in judging the way someone dresses, it doesnt matter. i do have an xxl flannel shirt that i wear skiing cuz it keeps my ass dry, my outfit is all large, xl and still looks dope
