Simon's run was sooooo sweet. He went bigger than Candide (not really) but it was still huge, then he did a flair and decked it soooo hard. DC didnt compete for some reason, injury of some kind probably, but him Max Kusaj and another guy were sitting behind me.

cr's qualifying run was incredible. never have i seen anyone fly that high out of the pipe - skier or snowboarder! the entire bleacher sections stood in awe and applauded. too bad he couldn't lay it down in the finals. would have been hard to beat candide anyway. his was the most awesome run ever. tanner was only mediocre! but the judges always like him and score him high no matter.

 
yah i wasn't that impressed with tanner's runs either. candide definately threw down. the pipe was all slush today. very sketch.

yeah candide's run really was the biggest shit ever there, but i haven't ever liked candide's skiing, so i didn't like the run itself, but sick big it was.

tanner threw some smooth stuff and landed his alleyoop flat5 to flat and wasn't able to get any speed to his last hit..

expn's raw coverage was really shitty thing.

yeah, they looked like the orange 1080's but they looked like they had a really deep sidecut. Candide and CR had them.

the only thing I have a complaint about the pipe is I think Jon Olsson and Hall should have been swiched around in the scoring

yea, i thought candide just had older 1080s with no base graphics, but on expn they have the little salomon logo on the tips and tails....they kinda look cool...

i don't know if those skis were different construction or whatever, but those are next years graphics, the top is almost the same, new 1080 graphic on the bottom

 
I was at the finals and took a couple of pics. Not as good as the ones on ESPN's website, but whatever. I posted them in the halfpipe picture section if anyone's interested.

IF YOU WERE IN THE BLEACHERS...

I was the guy (with the green hat and no shirt) that got the whole crowd doing the wave after Candide's run. :) I hope I get on TV tonight (9pm - 11pm EST on ESPN2).

Okay. From practice to the end of the awards, I was in awe the whole time. I got to the pipe when they started practicing and saw Pep Fujas case it hard on the skier's left wall. :( He looked hurt... so Simon Dumont got to ski. I was really looking forward to Pep ski the pipe. Bummer.

Anyway, DC's air at the WS1 was huge, but I really think that CR's 9 was even bigger... but I was standing right at the edge of the pipe for that air.

I got to talk with Kristi and Sarah after the comp. They are sooo chill! And holy crap, Kristi's little sister is cool too!

That day was a dream come true for me because I got photos of me and my friends with Tanner, Kristi, Sarah, and Candide! It was a great day and I just wanted to share it with you guys. Peace!

i just went and watched the winning run on expn... oh my dear goodness hugest air i have ever witnessed... in the photo section they have a pic of cr....like 7000 feet out... crazy.

reedy got bumped out of the finals, but i thought his run was totally ballsy cuz he took the first hit to fakie then did a nice big clean switch 5, nice cork 7 at the bottom, all of his runs looked really smooth but candide was ridiculous, as was cr's qualifying run he came out of his cork 9 like 5 feet out and he floated it to begin with.

what skis was henrik using, they looked like scratches with new graphics. green and yellow, kinda like the skogan's, but they weren't

and cr went huge too, they said his second hit was 19ft. out of the pipe, crazy, just crazy.

wow. that shit was amazing. i got to watch the whole thing from the bleachers and it was the tightest thing i've ever seen. candide was ridiculous. cr's runs in the finals weren't even half as good as his qualifying run, it was insane.
