i was watching the xgames big air snowboarding today (dont laugh) and when travis rice pulled a double backflip 360, they called it a double cork 1080?????? wtf am i missing something?
 
you just dont know whats up... and yes the x games announcers are retarded but thats trices triiick check out more he does the nicest one
 
Stupid douglas calls switch up "change ups" and sammy was "dancing across the box" and according to snowboard announcers 10-12 ft airs are HUGE!
 
I dont care if people consider mike D to be the best skier to ever walk this planet, that doesnt make him a good announcer. They sound like fucking retards when they are talking, why does he keep calling boxes rails? and why during the run all they keep saying is very smooth, so smooth, oh smooooth! step up, money booter, they never name the tricks until they go back and replay everything, bottom line, whoever appointed them to sound like idiots every winter should be shot in the face.
 
meh i think hes just doin it cause espn tells him to dumb the language down for all the non skiers who were watching
 
Welcome to the discussion. I believe the lack of quality annoucers in the X-Games has been a problem for about 11 years.
 
they need to have a trick guid they have to read before watching it so we dont get out panties all in a bunch

 
so the fuck what, that means theyre dumbing it down so they can get higher ratings, like ESPN doesnt get enough viewers when it comes to Sportscenter. how many people you think honestly watch skiing in texas and fla??? and if there is any viewers its more than likey kids our age that know all the terminology anyway
 
You dumb fuck it is called a double cork and Todd Richards is by far the best announcer at the X games. Unfortunately that paired him up with some douche who doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.

He called a flat spin a lincoln loop.

It's a tough job and Douglas actually knows tricks and skiing, but whoever does it is boud to make some mistakes...
 
He does a good job and keeps it entertaining, it's not easy.

Some people call the double flip a double 1080 because they are counting the 2 flips as 720 degrees of rotation plus a 360 at the end or 180 on each side.

Even if that is true, it's obvious from the way he talks that he doesn't know shit about the  sport he claims to be a part of.... shining light on how much of a tool he is
 
i dont by the dumbing it down thing. if someone doesnt know what a skier is doing i dont think they care what the anouncer is saying. they are all just gonna be amazed by it.
