I was reading the other thread about "courage crews" and they are nothing new, straight edge gangs have been part of the hardcore scene since the begining. I used to be really into hardcore and even had my own crew (though we wern't edge) and other crews in my town would constantly be trying to fight me and my friends because we smoked tons of weed and would get shitty on the weekends. I even got straight brass knuckled at one show just for being a little drunk with some pals. Straight edge is one of the most fucked up parts of our society mostly because they are ignorant and try to force their values on others using violence (beating me up for smoking is much worse for me then the actual smoking)

in conclusion don't be a douche like this kid, and have a fun life

I have no problem with straight edge kids. I used to hang out with a few in college. But these kids were dope, they didn't care what we did in our spare time (drink/smoke) and we always used to hang out. But they had some edge friends who would hide in the bushes around campus and straight jump kids they saw that were drunk. It's militant edge kids that gives being straight edge a bad name.

That shit was already 6 pages long, and I didn't want to get caught up in other peoples arguments, so instead I made this thread to portray my story.

Though most straight edge kids aren't outwardly violent towards people, the kid who is in the picture I posted has never fought people for drinking/smoking (he's kind of tubby so he really can't), but as you can see even though he doesn't commit violent crimes he certainly supports "killing your local drug dealer" and as a person who has sold drugs to other people before this is deeply disturbing. What I'm saying is even supporting that blind ignorance is wrong and shouldn't be tolerated.
