XBOX Live Price Increase (not so bad)

Just got an email. Yes, they are making it MORE expensive, BUT it looks like there going to be some pretty sweet new stuff, like live and on demand games from ESPN, Hulu, and the Kinect video chat.

Its going from $49 a year to $59, so really not so bad. Thats less than an extra dollar a month. For everything they give you I think its still worth it.

Im probably just going to buy some of those year long subscription cards off ebay for like $30 so it wont matter anyways.

fuck xbox live. i have been suspended from it so many times for nothing, im suspended right now in fact. its bullshit.
 
We all are entitled to our own opinions, in my case all the games I love at the moment are xbox exclusives and there are also some great games that are multi-platform on the 360, for me 10 bucks a month is not that bad considering it mostly comes out of my money for non essential food. I get the best of both worlds.

Its only 5 a month, even after the increase.

I was just looking at the site though, and if you already have live, you can get another year for $39 before the price goes up

i was just about to say that. i do have an xbox also, but i never use it, im always pc gaming.
 
What the fuck, there is no competition here, this thread started out just saying that Xbox Live was more expensive, and now there is an argument on the best system. Who gives a fuck, buy and Xbox, or a PS3, or a computer who the fuck cares, it is all the same when you are playing.
 
As long as they keep a balance between fair price and good content I wont have a problem.

Like I said, just $5 a month to play with everyone else in the world, able to watch netflix, and hulu and espn coming, not a bad deal.

If they start adding a bunch of useless stuff and keep raising the price then people will leave.
 
see on my xbox i can watch jersey shore through Zune, you cant watch no jersey shore on ps3... end of discussion.
 
The only benefit I see here is that there will be less young kids on Live as the price gets higher, unless their parents pay for the subscription.
 
Another reason why im trading in my xbox and all the stuff for it for a PS3.
xbox is good for like Halo and gears but i hate paying so much.

 
i had an xbox. guess what? it broke! big surprise. they are shit quality.i now have a ps3 and i like it a lot better. the only xbox exclusive i played was halo and i hardly played it at all anyways. the only thing i dont like about my ps3 is the controller but its not really a big deal
 
You guys don't understand why they are raising the prices. The 20% increase is ridiculous. Remember a while ago when Microsoft said that ESPN was going to be free on the Xbox? That's what the raise is for. Mircosoft was loosing a little money to ESPN for their "free" money, and since they are all greedy bastards, and nothing besides controllers made by MadCatz work with the Xbox, they are making you, one of the other 1M people who pay for XBL. Microsoft is being greedy by increasing the price to $10 so they make an extra 2-4 million per year so they can use that money to pay ESPN for their originally "free" service. Watch this video, it will explain.

GOSH, you guys are all noobs when it comes to gaming. AHHHviously you all know that super nintendo and sega dreamcast and the end all be all gaming systems. You know what, add sega saturn in that mix. I'll mess you all up in Virtua Fighter 2.

console for console.....the xbox and ps3 are pretty much the same (especially now with the new xbox released)

xbl pisses all over psn....my roomate has a ps3 and i'll take live any day over psn.

60 bucks for a year is a deal...the only other thing that 60 bucks would go for is a tank and a half of gas. orr....thats about it.
 
I actually agree with this.

Over the summer all my 360 games got really boring so I started playing some Super Mario AllStars and it was so much more fun than most FPSs. And Super Mario Bros 1 takes a shit ton of skill.
 
The m11x is a piece of shit. You can build a computer just as good as that without the ugly ass case for 600 dollars less and it won't be made by alienware so you won't be a ricer douchebag.

 
the majority of computers like that aren't as good as the ones you build your own. something from the factory, i don't know, they fuck wits it.
