I dunno, I was just about to post that Gagnier was undeniably the winner, but after closer watching, I still think he won, but it was really close.

I mean, the rails. Tanner started with a wrong side regular slide, to the 450 270. Gagnier did the one foot to switch 270 disaster. Maybe Tanner gets the one up Slightly on that one.

Throughout the rest of the course it was so close, I just think that Charles got it on the solid landings, everything was just so dialed. I mean tanner was too, except for the last hand swipe..., but I dunno. There was something about Charles' run that I was just like, thats the cash right there. I guess just sayin that I respect Hall for everything, but I really dont think he should have flipped about the judging, nobody's gonna knock him for getting second. Dude's pretty much immortalized in the freeski world already. I hope he throws down in pipe finals, he KILLED the prelims.

yeah i totally agree, gagniers one footer didnt beat tanner's 450 on 270 off, it was his dope unnatty 720 mute grab and the 1080 with a better landing, and not sure with it being tv and all but it looked like he went bigger.

Its only for decoration thats it and thats all

What goes on in the gondala stays in the gondala

simon got robbed, his second run wich was cleaner and had the 10 in it scored lower then his first, i'm not sure if his run was a gold run but it atleast should have beaten his first, cr too. so jon isnt the only one.

Gagnier did a different grab on every jump, tanner didn't. PLus gagnier's landings were smoother. You cant base the outcome on 2 rails.

yeah, if you based the whole contest on a couple shitty rails at the top of the course, you would have another 2005 us open slopestyle on your hands.

yea...CR should have gotten higher with his back to back 1080's, i dont care how shitty or hucked some may think they look, its hard as hell to do back to back 1080's

my theory:

tanner's and Gagnier's runs were both excellent, but when it comes to judging and winning, im guessing xgames and espn has some say in it. now what im thinking is they dont want some skier being the first to get the oh so holy '4-peat.' And if tanner didnt get it this year, then they could save the opportunity for winter x poster boy shaun white to get it next year in slopestyle. so since gagnier's and tanner's runs were so close, why not give it to gagnier so white can be the first to 4-peat next year?

Just my thought on it all.

my theory on it was that a three peat means the guy is awesome, but when it gets to 4, especially with a newer sport, does that mean that nobody is progressing and theres just one really good guy and nobody else can compare? I think it was overall better for the sport to give gagnier the medal regardless of whether he or tanner deserved it.

However, on pipe action, I think Jon deserved MUCH higher scores than he got for his difficulty, tech, and fluidity, the onyl thing he lost on was amplitude, and that brought him from like a potential 95 to a 75 what the fuck's with that.

Like, Dumont got 92 something, imagine Jon was even going close to Dumont's height... Olsson's runs were WAY more tech. That's my only beef with it this year really. Jonny O deserved second.

JON??? Everybody is talking about tanner and charlie, but i think Jon definately should have won.

ninthward is making some skis and maybe fucking some shit up on the side, and i love it.

The reason the announcers said Gagnier won was because Tanner put down his hand on the landing. If you look closely at Gagniers run on his switch 1080 he puts his hand down on the landing too...now if that is why Gagnier won that is kind of bullshit...but he still had an amazing run and all, and maybe the Switch 270 on would be harder than a 450 on because on a big disaster like that it would be very hard to land straight on the rail if you were looking over one shoulder on the take off.
