X games

why dont they have a rail jam with like a hour 1 hour jam format like you would at ur local mtn... i think it would be pretty cool... only problem is maybe that most gapers like to see jumps not rails and x games does have a good amount of rails in their runs

this.

someone proposed it on here when they introduced the "high air" comp. dumbest idea ever, but i was stoked for peter to get his first gold.

this is the best idea, someone with some pull in the xgames should really introduce it. xgames is watched by us, this is what we want to see. and it would be so sick to see guys like wallisch, walker, etc going at in on a rail jam, it would be nuts. and it would be sick because it would give guys like will wesson or even ian compton (although i doubt he would try to compete even though he can actually keep up with all those guys) a possible shot of winning xgames which would also be nuts.

it would be sik to see Andy Parry in the rail jam. No one will know how much points to give him cuz of his own style of slidin rails, but yea overall a rail jam in the x games would be sik

hahaha... i did search bar this is guess there was some type of urban one i think back in 03 or 04 but it was online streaming only or something

There would most likely be a giant cannon box so you can see over 100 misty 810s or whatever and then a big flat down for flips on.

No one would be interested in watching it it was a handrail style rail. The other day I was watching a jam thing for the dew tour and to the average viewer it looks pretty damn stupid because the tricks are so small and really unimpressive unless you have actually skateboarded or skied and know how difficult it is to do.

i love it when people put down full thoughts in posts... thank u
anyways this is exactly my thought people dont get pretzels and dub swaps... they think its sooo easy to jump and turn 180 degrees and land back on a rail
kids at my school see me do a back swap in a video and say ur not that good when i kno im not i say lets see u do it

i get this. its so true. but i think that they should have this for us. xgames (ski and snowboard part) is for skiers and snowboarders. this is what we want to see. a lot of other people watch the xgames ( i watched superpipe with my dad and he called it a "wind tunnel"...he doesn't give a shit about it) people who don't know the sport don't know what they are watching anyway. the sport is for us, not for them. if we want to make comps for an audience of gapers who like watching trick skiers do whirlybirds in the windtunnel, then go for it. but i would rather make comps for those who care about what they are actually watching. my uncle tried to convince me that in the winter olympics there was "some sort of race where the skiers went over jumps" and he was "pretty sure" that it was a requirement for them to do "a flip." i told him he was thinking of skier cross... i like my uncle, but he doesn't give a shit about freeskiing, he doesn't even know what that means. the people that are involved in the sport and follow it should be show what they want to see. skier cross is the most basic event and my uncle still didn't understand what he was watching. you think he cares what he sees in the xgames? the high air comp was tailors to people like him who can say "whooa, he really high up there!" but i thought it was such boring shit (especially with the announcers sucking simon's dick and calling him "the dumont" every 5 seconds) why don't we make a comp that the majority of the freeskiing world (last time i check, that is who is in the xgames) wants so see and add a rail jam. / rant

a railjam would definetly be sick but like you said the viewers who dont ski would get sooo bored when there watching that when they could be seeing things like bobby brown in the big air comp. although all the people who do ski park would love the railjam
