they probly won't ever have it in the east unless we have a super good season...the only time we got more snow than the west was this past seasonbut other than that they get way more. the only place on the east coast that could hold a good x games slopestyle course and pipe would be at stratton....the VT open was so dope

No pro wants to wreck themselves and get hurt on shitty hard east snow.

The west is where its at.

Aspen is a kick ass venue and they have done it twice so its a lot easier to get done there instead of a new mountain and they know what there getting.

they had it in the east a couple years ago and it was pretty sweet

cum, on my face, in my hair. it is everywere. if u want, i will let u, lick oooooff all this goo.

dudes, Aspen drew in so much fucking money from the X games. #1 reason is the people that were there had money, and there were a lot of fucking people there spending lots o money!

More money, more X Games!

Somtimes I just like to sit back and allow all the ignorant people in this world easily ammuse me. Other times they just piss me off.

yeah that's gay, they should bring it back to the east, or at least pick somewhere else in the west. mt snow did it alright, but I think the River could definitely handle it, and of course stratton.

I don;t know if it's a money thing though, since, I might be wrong, but when they had X in the East, they had much bigger crowds because of the big cities in the east to draw from, Aspen isn't around big population centers like Philly Boston, and NYC..But Aspen is pretty kick ass and I'm sure they are just comfortable with the resort..

Winter X Games VIII Returns to Aspen

06.17.03

Press Release

Aspen/Snowmass, Colo. - ESPN has selected Aspen/Snowmass to host the eighth-annual Winter X Games, January 22-25, 2004. Ron Semiao, Senior Vice President, ESPN Original Entertainment, and David Perry, Aspen Skiing Company Senior Vice President, made the announcement today.

The Winter X Games is the premier winter action sports event in the world, featuring more than 250 athletes from across the globe competing for medals and prize money in Moto X, Ski, Snowboard and Snowmobile. The event will air on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC Sports Jan. 24-28, 2004, while ESPN International will distribute the Games to more than 110 million homes in more than 145 countries and territories around the world.

Aspen/Snowmass was the host resort for the past two events -- Winter X Games VI (2002) and VII (2003). This will mark the first time a city has hosted an X Games event (summer or winter) for three consecutive years. X Games events usually change sites every two years.

'We are thrilled to bring the Winter X Games back to Aspen/Snowmass,' Semiao said. 'Aspen is one of the world's most well-known winter resort destinations. Buttermilk's base easily accommodates our entire event in one main area and has slopes with perfect pitch for the venues. Aspen Skiing Company is a fantastic team to work with and our athletes, sponsors and affiliates love Aspen. The spectator support and the embracing attitude of the town have been incredible. When you put all these considerations together, returning to Aspen for an unprecedented third year was an easy decision to make.'

'This long-awaited great news is cause for celebration. The energy level that the Winter X Games brings to Aspen/Snowmass is off the charts, and the event coverage enables us to get the word out to the world that Aspen/Snowmass is an exciting, special place,' says Perry. 'A great deal of hard work and communication went into bringing back the Winter X Games for the third year. We couldn't have made it happen without the tremendous support of the Aspen/Snowmass community.'

All Winter X Games VIII events will be held at Buttermilk, an Aspen/Snowmass area mountain. There are four ski areas in the Aspen/Snowmass area - Snowmass, Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk - all operated by Aspen Skiing Company.

This past January, Winter X Games VII drew a crowd of more than 48,000 spectators over the four-day event, exceeding the 2002 attendance by more than 12,000. The event also set television viewership records. Including all telecasts (which aired on ESPN, ESPN2 and ABC Sports), the three networks garnered an average of 412,673 households, the highest in the event's history and a 33% increase from the 310,810 average households for Winter X Games VI (2002).

ESPN, The Worldwide Leader in Action Sports, first developed its X Games franchise in 1995. The ninth-annual X Games will take place in Los Angeles, August 14-17, 2003. Information on all X Games events can be found on www.expn.com.

i thought the aspen park sucked for the x games

i hate posers. thanx to harvey and all who contribute to the site for makin it so kick ass. the world is my very own pot party.

tremblant would be cool in the future, bring the sport back to it's roots, and its only a two hour drive.

Joel

They definately should have it two years in the west and then two years in the east coast. Tremblant could be a cool palce to have it, and do the big air finals at night. The VIP parking lot would be big enuff to accomaodate the circus's trailers. And the Slopeside could be done on the south side under the chair, where the park was 4-5 years ago.

screw all them shitty places....they should bring it over to indiana.......just kidding....mammouth would be cool

jarett your a fool and im jealous of you because you got a quote in someones signature-RS4LIFE

well ijust found out the aspen is only 6 hours away from my house....and thats going the speed limit

if they make xgames at mammoth they should make a slopestyle with superpark hits and huge rail gaps (like pep fujas) and see who could tame it, the money booter would be the collins bro gap!
