OK here's what I think would make all the X Games better for the viewers, the sports and the network (ESPN).
Divide the X Games into three different events, Winter, Summer and Moto X which would take place in the fall or spring. Take all the motor events and move them to Moto X. This would free up air time to add more coverage on skiing and snowboarding for the winter x games, and free up more time for those guys to do backflips on sleds. more people who cared like us would watch it all and add ad revenue for the whole thing. Add a big mountain comp (it's stupid they dont have one already), maybe a tree skiing comp of some sort, an urban rail jam, maybe a red bull type big mountain cold rush thing or like the K2 back 9 in bounds style. make all these for men, women, ski and snowboard. You could ad more new events for the summer and moto X Games too. Finally, show every run and treat it like a sport and not a reality tv show, maybe follow other comps and have X center year round once a week. I just think this would help all the sports and show every aspect that the olympics do not to give it a more well rounded show.
Also video edits of kids on newschoolers (and similar sites for the other sports) with commentary should be how they find their new play by play guys because, mike douglas excluded those guys are idiots. Plus that would be a sweet contest and I would definitely enter it.
That being said X Games this year has been much better than the years of hayden christiansen and texting who wins. I also like how they cut down the competitors and have a session format and that is much better than it was too, but they should show all the qualifiers.
Whatever, do you guys think that shit would be better or what?
 
I think xgames killed it this year, the big air format was so dope and was so fun to watch, the slopestyle turned out real sick too other than not seeing every run, which was expected. I think they stepped it up this year.
 
they did it a few years back, they had the moto-x championship at some random time during the spring. Definitely wasn't as big of a draw as the normal x-games.
 
What I really want to see is a mandatory victory lap in slopestyle, cork 3's, Liu Kangs and layed out backies encouraged.
 
i thought this year was a lot better, but they could add an extra day or two to the contest and avoid overlapping events.
 
I'd say it's pretty much perfect.That would be like saying that we should do the "team sports olympics" and "individual sports olympics". This year wasn't that bad since we had the full slope prelims, full big air and 50% of our slopestyle (a lot of it was cut due to an injury in snowboarder X).Props to ESPN for the best Winter X so far in almost every aspects.
 
You can't have snowmobiling and moto at the same time due to seasonal differences. They tried moto in the winter, but that didn't pan out (Deegan's gnarly fall 40 ft. to ice). They could do rally and either snow/moto, but not all three (safely that is).
 
do it in the spring, i gotta say everywhere i have lived has had snow enough to sled and mud and dirt at lower elevations, colorado being the best example.
 
Moto X indoors (in a dome or something), sleds outdoors and rally everywhere it's fits (maybe both indoors and outdoors).. I'm pretty sure there are indoor moto-x events already, it would screw up the supermoto though...
 
does anybody have any other ideas? i just think it wold be way better and they have the money. i know it was good this year but it could be so much more.
 
According to the Comp/TV schedule, the whole ski superpipe finals will be aired and the high air too.No need to complain about the redneck part of X Games that I don't watch either. It's part of the event, we have to live with it. It attracts more sponsors for the event so it's all right.
 
x game's objective is to get the general public to appeal to our sport in a way that they can watch it and cheer. if they started to move off into the more "core" levels of the sport (web edits and such) than there is a chance of loosing viewers
 
there is the business side and then there is what you want to see. Just because OP wants something and it is a sick idea doesn't mean it makes business sense.
 
they should play ever second of x-games footy in megamo.that way it would last all year and they could devote a channel to it.
 
look, jesus christ, i know that espn will never do this and i know that it has been better than the past. i want to know what are your ideas. plus having it be more legit with a big mountain comp etc. would bring more sponsors too
 
You have good ideas but its just not worth it for the people behind Xgames. They aren't in it for the love of the sports they are in it for the money.
