X Games Pipe quals

Which only makes sense, I mean, you should be able to decide the podium before even seeing the comp, right?
 
I was so pissed after not being able to see Candide possibly do a nice spin on the gap to rail, and now if I dont get to see him in the pipe...
 
I just checked out the shots from Freeskier/Skipass... and noticed 2 things about Dumont.

The first is, he has a VERY green suit.

The other is that he's got the truckdriver NAILED.
 
Yes, I have a late history class thats 6-9pm central time, and it looks like I'm gonna bail on it halfway through, or just not go at all, not sure yet.
 
wow if Gagnier podiums the X games are gunna look like the biggest joke ever (and i am a fan of the Xgames not hater), but for a sub to qualify 6th, u gotta hope he podiums
 
why the fuck do we have to watch a bullshit womens snowboard pipe when the best chicks are out of it and then we have to miss the skiing womens pipe with the likes of sarah and kristi....i think espn is scared that if people got to see all the skiing that snowboarding would fall in the "popular" category....fuck espn they need to stick to football and shit they know nothing about "extreme" sports
 
No, no amount of showing skiing on TV will make snowboarding fall in the popular category. That's just silly. Snowboarding isn't cool because of what it looks like. It's cool because lots of people think that lots of people think it's cool. And if lots of people think something's cool, you better conform or else you're not cool. And that's also the reason ESPN would rather show it.
 
Aren't you emo or something...like, shouldn't you NOT conform? or you one of the SUPER emo kids who is so emo, he doesn't conform to what emo is, and therefore thinks it's cool to conform to normal things.

you know what fuck whats popular the longer people dont know about what we do then the longer we have sites like this where we can bitch to people who dont understand what were talking about...could you imagine if this turned into a myspace type thing because skiing was all of a sudden "cool"
 
word has it that thovex didnt pass cuz he was equal with fields, but sean's first run was better so he passed....candide fell on his first run ....and gagnier that you consider only a slopestyle skier is off the hook

Either way, it's a shame they won't televise the prelims or the womans final...
 
the whole concept is go balls out on your first run and not have to worry if you fall becasue you have another run...this invites better competition becasue people take more chances...

but then they were like "actually someetimes your first run does count"...so they totally went against the whole backbone concept of the competition...get it?
 
Nothing really, I guess it makes sense, I just wanted to see Candide... but the format is meant to allow people to go nuts and throw crazy shit because it doesn't matter so much if they fall since they have another run and the screw up doesn't count... here it does. It's kind of a disappointment, I think most people wanted to see what Candide could do in finals.
 
The big deal is that run isn't supposed to matter. The format of the comp is the best run wins, not the best average. Its designed that way so you can go out and lay it all on the line, and if you fall you have another chance. If the other runs mattered, people would be much more conservative, and it would be less fun to watch.

Its just the prelims anyway, one extra rider in the finals won't make much of a difference and its also more exciting to watch. They could have even had a playoff between the two.
 
i have that same question. Is it on expn or what, because either its because its not on yet, or because they are not showing it? I don't want to stay up til 2 to find out there is nothing on.
