So one day removed from the epic battle of last nights X games pipe final i am left with many thoughts. which got me to thinking and i decided that that was the possibly the best thing that could have happend to the whole newschool skiing movement.
First off, the big air was truely a joke. It really didnt do anything for skiing. But then on prime-time TV on a weeknight we had an incredible battle of wills, progression and just a sick night. You got Dumont in extreme pain stepping up and ripping not one but 2 insane runs. Only to be followed by T$ and Laurent F. doing the same thing (sans the pain). Then we had interviews and stories about Dumont and Tanners injurys where they didnt make fools of themselves. For once a pro skier sobered up for an interview so the rest of nation thinks were coherint human beings. Also, today i heard people talking about tanner and dumont who never ever would have talked about them before last night.
To me, that was the best thing that could happen to skiing. People saw that were not idiots, and we can rip.
