X Games: Jump Size

I've always heard jumps are measured from the lip of the kicker to the knuckle. Even in previous X Games they've shown them this way. Now 'X Games 17' is showing them measured from the kicker lip to halfway down the lander. If this is the new format, fine. Now I understand why kids on tiny jumps embellish them to ridiculous sizes.

here in Quebec, the jump are measured from the lip of the jump to the 1/3 of the landing. don't ask me why it's like that cause i have no idea.

yea i always thought it was the gap between the lip and knuckle that is the size of the jump

but wtf do i know

Actually it's measured to the beginning of the landing when the inspector comes. Because when the park don't have a park pass, the maximum is 6 meters of flat for any jump.

Sometimes they are measured to the sweet spot...I am not sure about the xgames case, I wouldn't read too much into it...

I think they're measuring to sweet spot, as something about the big air jump being "85 feet to the sweet spot" was mentioned in the X-Games preview article... I might've read it wrong though.

In my opinion it's a better way to measure because most people don't land on the nuckle they land in the "sweet spot" gives a more accurate measure of how big it actually is.

Idk. haha probs just animation.

I know at my home mountian, they measure from lip to knuckle, then we usually add 6-10 feet or so.

50 foot jump =58 ft jump so and so on

I could care less how big they are I just think the names they call them are so sick!!!
Wall street, down payment, money booter!!!
It makes me hard.
