Both travis pastarna and brian deegan did 36os on dirt bikes at the x games but 10 minutes ago. craziest thing ever. hey do like cork 3;s its insane.

he does back 180s into foam pits, thats where he learned the 3. people were trying barrell rolls and double backs into it.

 
metzger isn't as good as pastrana. metzger's gettin up there in age and doesn't do much cept the backflips with no combos. everyone does flips now in moto. and pastrana did land a backflip 3 a couple times on a regular dirt bike on regular ground. I saw the vid a couple weeks ago, it was the sickest thing ever. They showed the trainining for it on bmx, then mini bike into foam, mini bike regular, moto-x into foam and then regular. he landed it on regular about 50% of the time tho.

looked like a corked 3 to me... the anouncer was saying i think thats a new kind of flip. so sick. then in vert flair tail whip like 12 feet out was incredible. holy crap

ya i saw it it was really cool. those bikes are like 200 lbs. i wonder what they will pull next too. i remember the day when pistrana did the first back and he didn't land it but it was soooo sick. It kinda queer though because if you aren't throwing a back in your run, there is nooooooo way you will medal. like pistrana's run was just some sick back's and that 3, he did like a couple cool tricks but they sucked anyway. but it is cool becaue that totally brought the sport to a neew level. its kinda like jf's switch 7 way back in like 1999

 
Pastrona's other jumps hardly sucked, in my opinion. Plus he has had more surgeries than just his knees. He's broke his back like twice i think and he still hasn't slowed down if not stronger than ever... I think Pastrona will be going for some time to come, he was out last season due to injury so i think he got all healed up and will be killing the moto cross races this summer and he will always kill the freestyles.. FYI he has never lost a freestyle event that he has entered, except one big air event, and he got second.

yeah i saw that on tv and i almost shit myself! at first it looked like a flat spin 3 but after they went into the close up it looked closer to a cork 3, sick either way, who won anyway? or was it just qualifying or early rounds?

that was finals and pistrana won then some guy (i think adams) or something was second then deegan third. speaking of deegan he was so pimped out he had like a dew rag and color cordonation and super tight rims. i mean its all about how you look

 
yeah , they were saying that deegans bike was over 50 grand us$, thats nuts, i guess that he has allot of chrome and other stuff on his bike that makes it really expensive, the announcers were laughing at the fact that hes goin 90 feet long and 40 feet up with such an expensie bike lol

i think deegan should have placed higher because he landed the 1st 360 in competition in his run...pestrana landed his perfectly but he did it after time and it didn't count..Pestrana's was smooth as shit tho

That was sick last night, those guys really stepped it up...I saw the 360 flip into a foam pit. Maybe it was another program. It looked like travis was close to landing it but he couldn't quite get teh 360 finnished. When he does that all hell will break loose. I can't imagine what that must feel like being 100 ft up doing a back flip 360 with a bike between your legs...crazy.

 
pastrana attempted a backflip at one of the x games a while ago before anyone landed it. hart was the first one to land it.

 
no it was some unknown but pretty good rider that landed the 1st one...metzger was the 1st to land one in competition

To set the record strait....

Carey Hart was the first to attempt the flip, at the 2000 Gravity Games, he landed but washed out while he rode away. Travis Pastrana tried it at 2000 X-games and ejected right off the bat. Carey tried at 2001 X-games, ejected and fell from 40 ft. up. Caleb Wyatt was the first to successfully land the flip and ride away on a 250cc. in April of 2002. Mike Metzger was the first to dial the flip in on a super kicker ramp (48ft.)on July 2, 2002, and he was also the first to flip off of a standard competion ramp (75-80ft.) on August 2, 2003. In terms of who did the first flip heel-clicker it depends on what you call a heel-click. Kenny Bartram was the first to attempt in on July 22, 2003, but he didn't fully click his heels. Meztger was the first to flip and fully click his heels on August 2, 2003. And the rest is history.

The trick he did in the contest wasn't the 360 flip it was just a like corked 3 thingy, but they showed him practicing in the foam pits and he was trying an actual 360 flip... really sick.

dude those fukin moto guys are nutzo they flip and spin on several hundred pound bike.

we use like 3lb skis on a foot.

but the corked 3 looks better than an on axis 3 would.. for sure it would be sick, but it wouldn look as cool.. i dont know how they are gonna top that trick, its so sick.. but im sure they will, the backflip a few years ago seemed impossible now theres a bunch of riders than can do it easily so whats next?

 
the 360 flip will be next in comps... but i really wanna see a freakin' Lincoln Loop... i mean it has to happen, they already whip the bike to inverted anyway so why not keep goin'... i don't know how to do it mind you, it just seems logical. I bet they've tried stuff no one is even thinkin' about in those foam pits.

i saw it, that was by far the nastiest thing i saw on a dirtbike. and it was a cork 3, as if u could do a regular 3 on a dirtbike

 
do think a straight 3 would be next? do they have skiing in the summer x games? i remember a big air once in it i thought.

Pastrana has had surgery everywhere, knees, wrists, elbows...the guy's made up of more metal than Robo-Cop. But the kid's not a quitter, and he's not in pain. He'll be riding much longer if it's the last thing he does. Racing's not this kid's bag. He pulled of the SX seasion win. But he can't stay healthy enough to ride a whole season. As of late he has recovered from thrashing the SHIT out of his black Corvette. According to the papers, police couldn't even tell what kind of car it was. All you knew was that it was wrapped around a massive tree. His hand was reconstructed. But yeah, the back 3 (thing) was pretty rad. The coolest thing I've ever seen on a bike. Word. LATE

I'll tell you where...someplace warm...a place where the beer flows like wine...where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of capastrano...I'm talkin' about a little place called Asssspennnnn...
 
i bet that cork 3 will evolve into some kind of lincoln loop, kinda like the equivilent to what Sage Catta does on skis.
