X Games 2021

Watching women's ski big air everyone threw down. One weird thing I noticed is that they kept calling Sarah's switch 10 an upright spin, but it looks like a dub cork/rodeo to me:

Yeah it was a bit of a wobbly/flat spin axis not rly enough to call it a flat spin or rodeo but I like it. So sick to see some of these girls throw dubs with good style

so strange without noise from crowds, definetely a different energy to it. Still pumped to see some sick manouvers though!!

Im worried for ski knuckle huck, this years snowboard knuckle huck was fairly tame because the landing is so steep. Im still hyped to see the creativity flow but ngl i dont think well be seeing any switch dub backies this year. I would love to be proven wrong tho!

I wonder if they could convince spt to reshape it more like a step up knuckle

The problem is that they're holding it on the last slopestyle jump instead of the big air jump like they normally do. The landing simply isn't as long so the riders were sending it almost to flat. It does have me worried for the ski knuckle huck. It was sad not to see Zeb Powell in this years snowboard knuckle huck.

Does anyone know what happened to Kelly Sildaru? The announcers kept saying "she's choosing to skip her first run" then "she's choosing to skip her second run" and then she just never showed up.

Kelly Sildaru was being evaluated for a possible knee injury

I was not aware we wanted switch double backflips.

Switch pre nose butter 180 backflip late 180 though... now that would be something.

Now that I think about it more, a switch butter takeoff with a pre nose..., I think it is probably possible. anyone know if it has been done? You'd have to have a certain kinda ski with the right flex, and probably a huge amount of core strength, flexibility, and of course gumption - lots of gumption.

Money talks, if xgames and espn have the funds and the athletes want it they could do it in theory. They bring in all their own cats for it so it wouldn’t affect normal grooming I don’t think.

I want to see a dub Griselda flip

hopefully the snowboarders just weren't feeling it and the skiers will take it up a step or 3

When are these commercials going to end. They should have just put permanent ads on the side of the stream so I can watch the whole time, unless they're not skiing.

Does anyone know if the X Games streams on ABC and ESPN are free?

Cuz lotta the events aren't on YouTube where I've been watching them and really don't wanna miss Men's Men's slopestyle and knuckle huck but they aren't gonna be on utube

Blunck shoulda been given the win for that last run imo. Powering through that landing and just keep banging off doubles shows some incredible athleticism and sportsmanship.

On another note: I donno if I've been sleeping, but that double Wise did is the coolest modern pipe trick I've seen. So blind, so hot.

Haha it was like watching the worlds most spectacular controlled crash. But also reminded me a bit of the old days of balls to the wall!

He’s there for one reason. No doubt at all.

Not against any of his stuff and beliefs, but he’s there for that reason, which is annoying

I’m just glad that Gus Kenworthy made me realize my white privilige. Dude is cringe.

But seriously, Blunck and Ferrera’s final runs were badass.

So is there no big air jump this year and they're using the slopestyle last jump? Why do they have such a hard time making jumps? Remember when Jon Olsson offered to build one for them?

Ha that's why I loved it. Not that I don't appreciate how good everybody is now, but in the past so many runs were barely held together because what they were doing was so insane. Like the first time people were doing more than one dub, or any dub for that matter and they'd just chuck themselves to get a dub put down.

For slope they are forced to use the quarterpipe feature i think. They made the final main kicker much longer than normal for the slope course.

So it is the big air jump then? It looks much smaller than previous years, at least, the women's jumps looked like they weren't in the air for very long. If they have to use the quarter, then the landing probably is steeper because the quarter launches you up a lot more than the kicker.

Just make a nice tabletop jump, the past few years big airs were off the wall.

I’m sure budgets were cut. So that’s why just double up on that last jump. Can only make it so big with space they have.

SPT are what they are. They do some good stuff snd they do some cookies cutter crap - like X games.

But this last jump is not set up for this like last year was

Gotta ride that line to do the impossible.

Well said ! I appreciated that not everyone was doing basically the same run

yea that was F&*#ing crazy.. weird how so many of them see to have room for a final hit but aren't going for it.. like they've trained for those 5 hits only and don't know what to think when there is room left.

Pro level pipe has been all about a strict, fully planned 'routine' since Kevin Roland started throwing b2b dub 12s.

They posted the full broadcast on youtube after the event. They didn't stream it, but at least we can look back in the future and rexperience the madness that took place.

truth. but that fuckin sucks dicks.

If that lil NICO foo would of done one more trick on that last wall where he had room (Just a 3) he'd of proved himself as a great. not just another pipe robot.

pipe skiing is pretty lame now days.

It seems like this year athletes are going extra hard because there's no crowd they're just trying to impress each other. Back to back dub 16's in the pipe is some video game nonsense
