X Games 2013 slope course

Yeah I saw the big air jump in the background and thought, "Oh, that gap is tiny". Then I saw the landing. People will be sending that.

Course looks too sick. Will be interesting to see if more people opt for the cannon or for the jump on that option feature. Will we see a double from Gus off of it?

Do you understand physics? That landing was so flat with a steep landing you can go bigger with less impact

Do you understand physics?

You cant argue that step downs generate more downward force on impact then true tables, or step ups. All hes saying is that a step down of that size and hang time would have greater impact then a jump of the same size/hang time built in a JOI style for instance.

Somebody mocked me when I said up stair features to down rails.

Looks legit. Going to be some creative lines for sure.

Closeouts are starting to become aerials though.

I wish there was a whole trail like that. Place is banged out like a skatepark. Super tight and it'd take a while to figure out but would be so much fun to sesh for a season.

Thank you. I'm saying that by the looks of it, nobody will be landing within 30 feet of the knuckle. Why not make the gap bigger so that extra 30 feet doesn't turn the jump into a massive step down.

Gus Kenworthy said the jumps were perfect. He knows more about the course and skiing in general than you do, so stfu.

I can almost guarantee they'll land farther than 30ft from the knuckle and wont get hurt. Have you watched a big air contest before? Tjs sw 14 was on like an 70ft jump and he dropped like 70ft at least to the bottom of the landing and stomped. These aren't weak legged 16yos

The discussion is about the big air jump, bud. To the best of my knowledge, none of the riders have hit the big air jump yet.

Haha, yeah let's make a jump bigger so when the people are landing comfortably 30ft. away from the knuckle with little impact off a step over or true table, we can make the jump LOOK more impressive and have them land closer to the knuckle, increasing the chance of casing it and with less air for them to do their tricks!

I really hope you are not working for any park crew. If you used last year's X Games jump as an example to prove your theory of distance vs. impacts on landings, you'll probably get someone killed and a resort sued.

I can't blame you though; you've probably never hit a decently built jump before.

I said nobody would land closer than 30 feet. On average I expect they will be going 50 plus. Also, if they made the gap bigger, I would assume the skiers would go faster.

On which part? The estimated distance they would go or the part about going faster? Or both? I'm not trying to start a heated argument here, just speculating about a blurry picture of a jump.

They leave some stuff up I remember a long time ago they had the X-box and they left it up

Course looks awesome. However it just dawned on me, why doesnt anyone throw a rail geature or two in between 2 of the jumps? would that not be a greater test of skill?

Because during the jump part you need to go way faster than rails. Sometimes it can work if the run is less steep at one point but in this case it would not work.

If Tom's knee is healthy I don't see anyone who can touch him. With the jumps being that close Tom is so good at spotting his landing and looking at the next feature. I feel like that is just going to make his run look super smooth with relation to the rest of the competition who are going to be scrambling to get back on track.

Course is definitely sick. That cannon is awesome.

Hope the storm stays south on Saturday. Both for X-games and me to ski some Pow.

It's not even about the jumps here if tom wins, that rail section is insane!Honestly, it depends on how the judges judge.

If they judge heavily on the rails, I think we could see Tom, Andreas, ABM, Henrik up there.

If it's judged on jumps and rails, anyones game, but Tom will almost surely podium/win.

Jumps, gus and russ, but again, anyone.

I'm hoping Henrik pulls out that nose butter 12, and I hope jesper kills it! Oh and it would be nice to see woodsy do well..

I hope the rails matter. Other years you could have sat on your ass and slid down the rails as long as you through big spins at the bottom.

I'm assuming by the looks of it that rails will matter a bit though

Amazing idea! Just put a few rails features on the 80ft. of slope that is in between two 50ft. jumps. It is so logical!

You're right about it being a greater test of skill though.
