X-Games 14 Slopestyle Course Preview

course looks $$$, rail option after the log stall/tap thing looks crazy, people are gonna throw down on that rainbow-flat thing

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't it wierd with the log stall thing in the middle of the course?

looks pretty good, the stall thing is kind of odd for a slopestyle course but at least it will

give the boys a chance to show their creativity and im sure we'll see some sick tricks thrown

on the rainbow rail, looks so tight

damn looks a little tight coming off that first rail on the leftside. but super sick course. that rainbow is gonna be crazy

x-games is the "biggest" and has most money sponsoring it out of any competition and they're fucking sqeezing in rails? wtf aspen, fucking push 15 more ft of snow you lazy bastards. this isn't a rail jam.

rest of the course looks tight though. i hope guys get creative and throw some crazy stuff on that rainbow feature instead of pussing out and doing the same old cork/rodeo whatever out of the cannon box.

dam dude, i agree with what you are saying, but y so bitter? you arent even competing and you are calling the park crew a bunch of lazy bastards. just chill....

it is kinda weird for a competition but i think its cool. i mixes things up and there hopefully gonna be some cool stuff on it.

i believe it will be more or less used as a "barrel bonk" like tapping it with a spin which will still be sick. I just find it hard to believe if you were to stall on it you would have enough speed to carry through the course. Obviously i have no idea since i have barley even seen the course, but just a guesstimate.

probably just 360 nose tap or 540 nose tap depending on what trick they do on the next hit. It would be cool to see some hand touch things on it though.

Course looks sick!! Good too see the rail variation, think Wallisch has a super good chance too take it! Will defiantly be getting tech on all the rail stuff. Can't wait too seeee

B-Dog and Wallisch will place for sure if the judges are going to judge on creativity, which these guys have.

love the hitchin post, be awesome to see some crazy corked spin with a handplant over it (calling t-wall)

i think its perfect so we'll just have to wait and see when they all compete!! kill it!

If that is the whole course it is pretty short, a lot of features though, and a lot of possibilities for creativity.

I don't know why they feel they have to put everything so close together, in competition the guys are going to go bigger and just like last year people are going to have trouble setting up in between features.

Should be fun to watch though.

I don't think those jumps are big enough. They should be spinning faster, I thought dumont's sw 5 was going to be a sw 180.

No hate, but i've been looking for some white/black pants like he's rocking in the vid, any idea what they are?

slopestyle means rails and jumps. the past few years have lacked the rail portion and focused more on jumps imo. jumps are more of a "show" i guess but it kinna takes away the point of a slopestyle comp. the course looks rad. more of a variety to have different runs between riders.

That makes no sense.

Course looks a lot better than last year though. Plenty of time to grab speed for the jumps, nice and floaty. Should be a lot better competition this year. And if you guys need someone who can actually get a shot while follow camming, let me know :)

Yeah lol I just wrote an english final and my post was meant to be something along the lines of:
"I don't think those jumps are big enough, they're spinning too fast. I thought dumont's sw 5 was going to be a 180."
Unfortunately the sarcasm meant to emphasize the awesomeness of the features didn't work out when I contradicted myself. Epic fail.
Anyways, the jumps do look dope, sucked that the follow cam was so bad lol.

yeah. and no channel gap of death this year either with a transition going right into the takeoff of the next jump

I agree with this. More hits than last year with more options and more room for creativity. If you want to see the guys throwing their most massive tricks of the biggest jumps watch the big air portion. Slopestyle is meant to display a skiers ability to put a run together with different tricks and elements in it. Part of this is adapting to the course whatever the course is.

They have to fit everything into a certain amount of space, you have to remember this is a highly televised event, and if they spread everything out it would take twice as many filmers and twice as of long cable cams.

Ya but a better course allows people to integrate their best tricks into slopestyle, which makes for much better competition. Last year people fought so hard to get speed and flow that the competition was much less than what it could have been. No excuses this year.
