X factor ramp for street setup

growing up we had these ramps for bikes. pretty small but you could move them anywhere and eventually we learned that you could add it to any lip to make it a bit poppier. anyway, its completely hollow. Im curious if anyone has used this a a mold for building lips quickly. particularly for spots that you might get booted from.

my thought is that you could stuff it with snow and maybe some water at a safe location and then bring it in and put the mold ontop like a sand castle mold. has this been done?? is it worth trying?

damn that photo took me back 20 years. I think I remember seeing a pic of somebody using one of these for a summer session a long time ago

I'm sure it would work fine. Last year me and my friends used plastic tire ramps to get a lip and it worked pretty well. Might as well try it out

same!

OP we used one of those here and there for backyard and urban stuff. i don't think the sandcastle idea ever worked. we'd just use the ramp itself as a lip sometimes with snow thrown on top of it (as long as you can deal with the chance of slipping out on it lol), but usually it just ended up being used as a pump bump or something

used a similar ramp in a desperate attempt to slide a dfdfd in middle school when we got a record 2 inches of snow, it might've worked had there been more snow

as others said the sandcastle idea doesn't really work, if you want something quick id just take a pallet and add some legs to it plus maybe some plywood on top. Snow won't slide off the wood as easy plus it looks just as ghetto as using an x factor ramp lol

in my experience these things suck. i have seen people make frames out of wood, i think that would be better

dang i was hoping you guys had great success an therefore i should get one. dont have an old one laying around so not gonna buy a new one lol

I used to use them as molds for jumps in my backyard and they worked pretty well. I'd pack it like 4 times to get a decent lip but I'd basically make a pile of snow, pour some water on it, mix it around and then pack it in there.

I'd say if you have the space and the snow is right, the easiest way is to make a snowball and roll it around. My buddies and I did that with like 6 inches of snow on the ground and made a massive fucking booter that none of us were willing to hit until more snow came lmao. Was on a natural roller with a 40 foot gap. Took us only like 30 minutes too.

i don't think it's worth seeking out and buying one but ours was a fun option in the backyard, especially with snowskate setups. kinda encouraged some weird creative ideas

We use to hit these on skateboards and mountain boards and they would slide. It was awful. At one point, I had a mountain board jump that was a trash can with a weight inside (either wood or bricks) and a piece of wood angled on it. It was more stable than these lmao
