'X Games' I don't understand why all the skiers top dudes wave there hands around and talk like their black. DO they relize that that wannabe attitude is turning so many people away from our sport. The super saging is exactly reminding folks that we are rollerbladers. Sweet.

 
i dont think it turns anyone away from our sport? its an advertising method of creating an expression in order to gain audiences. if u ever watched the show 'Most Extreme Elimination Challenge' they changed it to MXC. its easier to say, and it is more talked about.

I agree. I wear a sleek fitting pant and because of it I feel like I ski really fast. With baggy pants you cannot tell if you are keeping your knees together and in perfect form.

We need better representation of our sport. Not clean cut, but mentally secure people that can complete a sentance when a camera is put in there face.

^^ best post from a newb EVER. I totally agree I expect this from tanner but SIMON??? he has now dropped off my list of idols in skiing. Its one thing if the crowd is going nuts there was just a heated battle head to head progressive skiing with 10's and 12's. then its okay to act like that but it wasnt. it was a horrible contest Id rather see something like candides earl exit cause he was mad he did bad then people celebrating an easy win. and tanner needs to show more respect for others... like looking in peoples eyes when they are talking to you and like he said ^^ being able to puit together a sentence. the only guys in skiing who show any humility (gagnier, olsson) have english as a second language... GOD idiots!

They also acted that way because they are super inscure. Tanner doesn't know how to act. Like Terrel Owens. T.O. grew up in the getto with his grandma that never let him leave the front porch. He had no friends, just Football. When he got to the pros and had all the freedom and money he didn't know how to act and he still doesn't. His emotions control him and he ends up talking shit about others including his own teamates. And yes he maybe the best in the game but when I was in a bar with a ton of people when he broke his leg, everyone cheered and laughed ther asses off at him. When I was watching the WGX in a room full of skiers in Tahoe and Tanner lost the Super Pipe the reaction was even worse. THe comments were crazy. If Tanner could invisbily sit in a room like that he might think twice about how he acts. One other thing, the day Tanner gets hurt or gets to old, the sport will no longer imbrace him like McConky or Douglas. He will be alone with no friends and dropped, all because his attitude is fucking lame and nobody will support that when he is washed up. Good luck being a wannabe.

there's plenty of room for all types of personalities on the podium. We were tuned in to watch the skiing. The skiing was ill and the rest of it was entertaining. If you have something better to offer the world then step on up and show us, otherwise keep watching and stop whining.

I'm glad at least a few people in this thread share my opinion. I was laughing so hard at the superipipe comp last night when dumonts friends from MAINE MINAEIMNAINMAINE came out with headbands around their mouthes as if they were wanted and couldnt show their faces. They looked like the biggest joke I've ever seen. Tanner can barley complete a sentence and perhaps needs to rethink his education. Granted these guys ski good but THEY ARE ALBINO WHITE KIDS WITH RICH PARENTS FROM RESORT COMMUNITIES WHO WENT TO SKI ACADAMIES. Everytime I go into park city it's the same thing a whole lot of confused people embracing a culture they don't understand and if they did truely understand it they probably wouldn't follow it anymore. The only people I know who act right are people who grew up in somewhat shitty or shitty areas. They realize it isn't something worth embracing. It's shallow, pointless, and most of all it fake.
