WW3 starting soon - Malaysian passenger plane taken out by missile Ukraine near Russian border

rumor has it that the separatists already have the black box, and have looted what they could from the wreckage.

Also just remembered, bizarrely enough, today is the anniversary of the TWA800 crash off long island that I referenced as a possible case of the US government shooting down a plane.
 
Apparently the father of a distant friend of mine was onboard that plane. He found out when he was watching the news 8 o'clock news. I cannot imagine how hard that must be, you can't prepare for something like that.

RT News, aka Russian propaganda machine is saying that the a missile from Ukrainian jet shot it down and that the missile was originally intended for Putin's plane which was supposedly in the same area as MH17. They said there flights crossed paths over Warsaw, Poland. The finger pointing is definitely getting out of hand.

I always go to ns for news like this, you can almost always get a wide range of sources and opinions of varied bias.
 
The problem that I have is that the Pro-Russian separatist control the crash site and posses most of the black boxes on the plane. Of course its speculation on my behalf, but this looks like an attempt at a cover-up. The leader of the russian separatist tweeted at the time of the crash that they shot down what they thought was a Ukrainian plane and that that they told them that they would "pay" for flying in their airspace. They also just deleted a tweet that said they just got BUK missiles in their position with a picture of them. They have to be the number one suspects right now.
 
I posted that because I think the size of our military alone will prevent Putin, or whoever is behind this, to think twice about extreme actions....

A Malaysian plane, flying from the Netherlands to Malaysia, was shot down over Ukraine, possibly by Ukrainians....so the end result is a war between Russia and the US?

I cannot and will not post or link to them, you will have to go there yourself or on liveleak, apart from this one, perhaps even the most haunting shot knowing that all these passports represent people.

US Intel has confirmed that the plane was indeed shot down by a missile but the suspect is not yet known. aka it was the pro-russian rebels.

so much chilling stuff, checked that news feed and it was nonstop shots of bodies and carnage. hard to stomach, turned it off right away. apparently some reporter tweeted out one of the passengers facebook posts before he boarded the flight with all the family/friends commenting on it.

this is a horrible event, has it been confirmed it was deliberate or an accident? because i have heard of errant missile stories taking airliners down.

yes I'm sure the President of Russia's plane was in close contact with another random plane in the sky. its not like they clear the air space by hundreds of miles for them.

Pretty sure the pro-russian rebels shot it down thinking it was a Ukrainian plane. Theres a transcript the Ukrainian secret service intercepted of the rebels responsible talking about how they shot it down.

I heard this too. Some rebel leader took a pic of himself next to the crash sight saying they got another one. Referring to it as an addition to the two planes that have been shot down earlier this week. It was posted on a Facebook style Ukrainian website but was taken down. I can't confirm this through.

It'll be interesting to see what happens if investigator or the US are able to determine the missile was given to the rebels by Russia. I definitely think that's the case. Most likely, the US will just increase sanctions against Russia, but the UN is actually going to enforce them this time.

Also, Putin is probably pissed, because he wanted the missiles to be used against the Ukraine and not start an even bigger crisis. Also, it's likely that the rebels were targeting a Ukrainian plane, as a leader posted on the Russian equivalent of Facebook that they shot down a military plane, which he deleted after they found out it was civilian.
 
Tony Abbott, the Australian PM, has now pointed the finger squarely at Russia and Russian Separatists.

There were between 23-27 Australian Citizens on board the flight, As there was a connecting flight from KL to Melbourne. Any other Australians on NS, who have concerns about friends or family, can Call a DFAT on 1300 555 135.

There's a little something called a Nuclear Weapon.

There's nothing preventing Putin from blowing the United States into dust with his 3,281 active nuclear warheads except for the knowledge that doing so would end life on Earth as we know it. Also terrorists don't fear our military because many are so devoted to their cause that they'll die for it. On top of that, they could easily go into hiding as a civilian and U.S. troops wouldn't know the difference.

My dad is in a senior position in British defence (the kind where he hasn't actually told me his job) and he thinks the Ukrainians are lying when they say they don't have the missiles.

Im confused with this post. I haven't heard anything I've read, which is a lot, mention that they did this at all. In fact its a well known fact that Ukraine has these missiles and they don't deny it.

I don't doubt that Ukraine has the missiles (they're listed as an operator on pretty much every source available)

BUT It's pretty unlikely these missiles were operated by Ukraine in the Dontesk region, and any properly trained operator should ascertain the difference between a civilian aircraft and a military one.

However the drunk thugs that seem to make up the seperatist groups would've just pressed fire ok the first aircraft they saw. It'd be like giving a

10 year old a Ferrari and telling him to drive it without any driving lessons. Fucking stupid move by Russia

Some people are claiming that the rebels may have taken the missiles when they overrun a ukrainian base, the Ukrainians are denying they have the missiles because they don't want this to be the case.

I think what you mean is that the Ukrainians are denying that the Russians took their surface-to-air missiles. Pretty sure they didn't say they don't have them though.
 
With todays military technology...how easy would it be to just go and look at the course the missile took from where it took off to find the source of who took it down. There is no way the US military isn't spying on Russia/ Ukraine.

obviously but when there is substancial evidence you can build your own case. im not talking about an opinionated forum post, but geo-tagged videos of the BUK missile vehicle not far from the crash spot, the claims of the separatist groups, ect.

Better to get it right than get it out first if you ask me. There may be "evidence" that the internet spews out, but it is the internet. You take to take a lot of it with a grain of salt.
