WTT Look P15/18 or FKS 155/185

I was just wondering if anybody out there had a pair of turntable style bindings in good condition they would like to part with. Let me know. If in newish condition will pay $$$. I am getting some park skis and all I can find new is the FKS 120's but I would prefer a higher din binding. Thanks a bunch.

You really don't want the 155/185 for park...no vertical toe release can be bad if you happen to land backseat.

Nope, that's why I said that...you're a big boy though, dang.

Think about something with a high DIN and vertical toe release, deadbolt 816s, some 17 DIN Head/Tyrolia/Elan clamps...There aren't that many actually, the 916s don't, and I'm not sure about the STH16.

yeah, not quite the best size for skiing. I just wanted the turntable looks because I had the P18's on my EHP's and they kick ass and feel so secure. I also haven't used anything other than Looks and Solly's and am a little hesitant to try something new. Change is scary. Thanks for the info though. I think I read on another post that the FKS 125's or 120's have vertical release. do you know if that is true?

I know right, I'm a big fan of LOOK/Rossi clamps...the FKS 120s and the LOOK counterpart have vertical toe release, and if you don't think it'll be an issue go ahead and grab some high DIN FKS and mount them up, it's just the added safety for park I was thinking about.

Another option is the Pivot 14 DIN that they made a few years back, or the new 14 DIN PX heel (although I'm not a fan of that design).

Deadbolts are pretty solid though, if you find some 816s I'd grab them up.

And the 17 DIN Head/Tyrolia/Elan stuff is beefy from what I've heard.

The Marker Jester is also getting a lot of good feedback from users.

verticle release isnt that big of a deal, jesters suck btw and also dont have verticle release. 155s and 185s are sick bindings. I was in a similar position as u and ride my din at 10-11 so didnt was the 120s. i got 155s on ebay check there

I'd head out to your local dicks sporting goods and pick up some jesters. The one in henrietta new york had em for 230 yesterday

wow, thanks. I searched froogle and ebay and found nothing, but i guess froogle didn't pick up on proctor jones. i went to order a pair off ski essentials, but someone else ordered the last pair as I was filling out the order form. again, thanks.

vertical release is a plus. pick up some scratch 140s (px14s, whatever) bindings have been great for me, my binding on all my park skis, and feel nearly as secure as my 200 xxl freerides

when i was looking for some fks i called proctor jones and they were sold out:(

go to backcountry.com they had the deadbolt 816 for 150$, i would buy some but im not big enough to need that bomber of a binding..

Vertical release is way overrated by you guys.... The turnable heel makes up for that and way more ... There is a reason why 95% of the world cup mogul squad uses fks binders. Most girls on the mogul/aerials circuit use fks155 bindings and most of those chicks weigh less than 140lbs so I dont see why this 200+ pound dude should not use fks clamps. Px14 biddings suck ass. Px15 aint so bad bat are fairly heavy. The only reason I would recommend not getting fks is if your skis are 90mm+ waisted meaning that you have to bend the brakes which is a total bitch...

A: upward release is definitely a nice touch, i wouldnt want a binder without it.

B: the current high din look/rossis dont have them, however, if you look on ebay, they have produced a ton of variants that feature both a high din and vertical release. theres a version to 15 with the pivot toe, the last generation FKS,s used an older style pivot toe, old look TT race binders have a phenomenal metal toe piece that has adjustable upward release, and so forth. while some have been beat to shit, its pretty easy to find binders with alot of life left in um. plus they are usually cheap as hell

No, vertical release is not overrated. You are wrong.

Think about the kinds of falls you take on a race course versus being a freeskier... Totally different, particularly when talking about switch landings.

ACL is a bad injury to have to recover from, so I'm in favor of all the safety I can get to protect my knees, if you don't feel like its something you need, so be it, but don't say safety is overrated, what we do is already dangerous, there's no point in being ignorant about the risks and not trying to be as safe as possible.
