Wtf will smith

If you’ve been married a while you probably get it. I choke slammed a MF some years back on some honor trip about my wife and honestly it was a huge mistake. On top of her feeling bad about this asshole I added to the drama with being violent and the whole thing just sucked. I’ve been on the other end at other times and felt so disappointed in myself for trying to take the ‘high road’ and just being like wtf dude you just froze.. idk there’s not a playbook for being a good husband

hero worship, I guess

Your generation=boomer

I had a similar reaction when I first heard about it "probably a sketch, staged" and I think it's good to be skeptic of stuff at first, but after watching the clip and thinking about it for a second, I highly doubt it was staged, just wouldn't make any sense.

First you're assuming the academy thought "oh yeah let's stage a violent interaction to make us more relevant". Besides putting them in the news cycle for a week, this achieves nothing to make them more relevant, if that's their plan, it's just dumb af, makes zero sense.

But fine let's say the academy is dumb and came up with this master plan, then you're assuming they somehow managed to convince Will fucking Smith who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars to throw his public image under the bus for them, okay... Clearly they couldn't come up with enough money to convince him, so what, they offered an oscar win and that was enough for him to look like an absolute moron in front of the world? I highly doubt it but let's keep going.

Then you do realize there is a team of CPAs certifying votes an everything, it's not one guy in a shack doing whatever he wants, so I assume you think they paid everyone involved in that process so he could get his oscar, and you think they'd be confident for people to keep their mouths shut forever too?

Like how is the risk worth the reward here? If this comes out they lose all credibility and the currently very successful people involved in that scheme would be ostracized from Hollywood. So they risk losing their careers/reputation for having the oscars in the news cycle for another week? The risk/reward just doesn't make any sense, they have everything to lose, very little to gain.

None of that makes any sense dude, and while I guess anything is possible I'd put the odds of it being staged at

I totally broke the code with the less than symbol, my point was that it's prolly less than a 10% chance of it being staged.

unfortunately we'll never really know, but I have a hard time believing this was all a coincidence on a failing program (the oscars) on a struggling network (abc) being controlled by idiots (disney).

I don't think its really out of the realm of possibilities at all, did you see what Trump did the entire time he was president? Any press is good press and honestly as long as the negative press isn't about abc, its good for the oscars and I have a feeling this is part of a grander plan by disney to improve ratings of their dogshit programing. It was a hail mary but it worked.

Shit was real. Chris Rock is the man. Didn't even touch his face. He got slapped hard by a frickin' dude acting like a child.

It's really hard for me to feel sorry for Will, as he's a "grown" man.

I'm a compassionate person, but shit.

Yeah man, Disney totally roped two famous entertainers into faking a physical assault over a joke about a woman balding in order to bolster ratings.

pheath, you're a fucking idiot.

Thank you, this is the most well written and properly analyzed comment in this thread.

We’re in a huge era of skepticism and conspiracy theories especially with key topics from the past few years like covid, the vaccines, and trumps “stolen election.”

The best thing to do is try and logically break down the pros and cons of each side and come to your own conclusion. I also think that’s a much better way of persuading people and demonstrating maturity.

The doubts you brought up about Will Smith being comfortable with intentionally destroying his public image over this is the one that hits home the most for me. I find that incredibly hard to believe and want to ask [tag=38820]@eheath[/tag] why he thinks that is plausible.

He didn't destroy anything, he won a fucking Oscar haha. Everyone is gonna forget about this in a week.

Could easily be fake to get people to start talking about meaningless oscars again as well as help the dying movie industry

I didn't see what y'all were saying before I commented that but nah they wold stage that shit in 2 seconds. Violence is IN. before you know it ads are going to be dropping f bombs

follow the music. All the top songs are now explicitly about sex drugs and violence. Ads are getting more risqué every day.

Yes the incident itself won’t be trending news in a week but now when people think about Will Smith, this is something that will come to mind. Especially the younger generation who is less familiar with him. It is hard for me to believe that Will would be comfortable making that sacrifice.

I wouldn't be surprised at all, will smith has been venturing onto the internet (tried to vlog for a bit, pretty active on social media etc) people will do anything to be relevant still.

There is no reason for him to do it even if it was "real" so that kind of invalidates the argument, if he was actually mad at chris rock it would be much smarter to text/talk to him after the show to solve the issue like adults. If will cared about his appearance he would have done it this way, not slapping someone during a highly regarded and somewhat popular award show...

The entire thing is so moronic, it's hard for me to believe its real IMO.

As somebody with alopeica, jada is a fucking pansie, will is 110% a cuck, and I was told by coworkers that it was a coverup for bidens laptop being lost and a copy of the hard drive found

Cost of his tickets have sky rocketed.

That's seem to be true. Prices go up with demand. Prices for the shows rose quite a bit.
