As Gus Kenworthy said in another thread, they're not doing JOSS.So that's probably why Colby is searching for a partner because he's replacing them
 
Anybody know why T-Hall isn't going? He dropped out of X slope too..

And Sammy won last year! I was really looking forward to see him do the contest again this year.

oh and i actually heard that sammy was still competing it was just tanner that dropped out.. i could be wrong though. but honestly why would sammy dropped out. he seemed to love it last year, plus he won

Tanner is filming with TGR, PBP, and 4bi9 and working his tail off to have incredible segments in all three. As for JOSS, I mean Dumont and Wallisch, Jossi and Russ, TJ and Dorey, and Colby and his mystery partner... JOSS will be dope.
 
cool that tanner is filming (with 4bi9 too!!! hahahaha) but i wanna see him compete some, and throw some stuff that he only brings out for comps so he can win. i wanna see his filming techniques when he gets as much input as the filmer.
 
Yeah, but I could see him bitching out and bringing Gus along out of team-loyalty or some shit. Then the second team America would just be chock-full of generic steeze, which would suck in comparison to what could have been (Sammy & Tanner).
LJ would be sick as fuck, though.

woefully inaccurate statement. colby was doing double nose grabs with his OWN INIMITABLE style before anybody else had even thought about that grab. furthermore he's one of if not THE most entertaining people in skiing to watch on film. idk much about gus, haven't really seen that much of him but i'm sure he rips too. stop being an ignorant asshole.

fuck, if anything I'd say tanner of all those people has the least distinctive style when it comes to hitting jumps. don't get me wrong, greatest skier on the planet, love him in pipe and big mtn, but watch his park segments of late, by which i mean those in reasons and the massive, and tell me thathe's doing anything out of the ordinary by today's standards...

i'd much rather watch him shred ak with the tgr crew than hit jumps at joss but whatever.
 
colby's non skiing is entertaining, his skiing is pretty ordinary, i'd much rather watch a team of yougins (spong & bobby) than him, or keep sammy and pick someone else as a partener.
 
If by being "one of if not THE most entertaining people in skiing to watch on film' you mean his weak-ass comedy segments, I think we're just going to have to stay disagreeing, lol. People get on Colby's nuts because he's so 'funny', which is a matter of taste, sure, but I've always though that shit was waaaay corny.

His nose grabs were INIMITABLE only because he was the first dude doing them. That was three years ago. Now that everyone else has caught on, he's not out in the front anymore. It's pointless to debate style, I guess, since we've both already got opinions formed, but I'd argue that his park shit has less originality to it than Tanner's by far. No doubt he's got a big bag of tricks that he can stomp on the regular, but as far as pros go, I think he's pretty average, and not an adequate substitute for dudes like Tanner and Sammy (http://www.vimeo.com/1616188) who have way more distinct styles.
Plus, I think TGR movies are fucking boring, so I'm not going to be stoked that one of the most stellar skiers is opting out of a guaranteed sick mini-segment at JOSS (which can also parlay into sick shots for a fall movie segment) just to go ski some pow with TGR.
This isn't to wish any ill towards Colby, sick for him that he gets to go, but as a fan, I'd rather see Tanner rip shit up.
 
Agreed. I don't hate Tanner at all for skipping JOSS, but Sammy dropping out is so disappointing, I mean he won it last year, damn it! It should be a rule that he has to come back.
 
Bump cause i want to know why Sammy isn't doing JOSS.

thats cool that tanner is skiing powder and big mountain but it seems like thats all he does anymore. i don't know if i've ever seen an edit of tanner sessioning a big jump.
