WTF --- Salomon Suspect edge blowout after less than 20 days of riding??

I just noticed that one of my edges on my Suspects is cracked and the base around it is bubbled up. I've only used these skis for 17 days and they have seen no urban rails or anything too destructive. What should I do?? Will Salomon waranty these???

++karma for any help, thanks

So I spoke to Salomon and, as I expected, they will not warranty my skis. They said that doing rails is considered "abusive skiing" and is not covered by their warranty program. Honestly, I don't get these companies...they put out a bunch of skis claiming that they're so revolutionary "edge armour, stringers, reenforcements, etc blah blah blah" yet these piece of shit skis can't make it to 20 days??!?!? I had the exact same problem with my Walls last year, and just like Salomon, Volkl would not warranty SHIT. If you'r going to put out a product, STAND BY IT. The Suspect is supposed to be a Park ski yet Salomon claims that rail skiing is "abusive"??? GIVE ME A BREAK.

Sorry for the venting but I'm getting fed up with the lack of innovation in park skis. When will a company come out with a seriously new and revolutionary bomb proof ski!???

damn cause salomon "supposedly" put a lot of extra durability features i in those like the weaving between edges on the base. but idk cause a lot of comapnys brag about durability when in reality your skis will get wear and tear no matter what

Mand that sucks bad

But i always hear how salomon skis this year are absolutly HORRIBLE

Like you should have used the searchbar because im pretty sure that there is like 100 threads like this you should email salomon from a diffrent computer and tell them you didn't hit rails or something cause salomon is so unlegit this year. well for there park skis that is.

woah that's rediculeous, a park ski but if you hit rails then you are doing an abusive use! wow thanks for telling i know what skis not to buy next year, but it really sucks for you.

The only chance u really have at getting a ski warrantied is if it basically falls apart before even using it. The companies put things like "abusive skiing" cuz stuff like what happened to u happens all the time.

If you break your park skis doing anything but skiing, aka jumping or rails, most companies will not replace the products. So what do you do??? DON'T TELL THEM when you are trying to get a replacement. Pretend you're a beater when stuff breaks because you were abusive. Say you only ski bumps sometimes, otherwise its all groomers. Hide rail marks and retune your skis before you try to get a warranty pair. Anything to increase your chances of getting a free pair of skis is fair game as far as Im concerned.

dynastar warantied my skis twice because the front tip came apart, even though i skied everything with them. dynastar is so legit

This has been bothering me for awhile.
Under the United States Uniform Commericial Code, Article 2, governing the sale of goods, there is this thing called an "Implied Warranty of Fit for a Particular Purpose." (my big law book actually uses skis as an example for this)and it arises whenever: "any seller or lessor knows the particular purpose for which a buyer or lessee will use the goods and knows that the buyer and lessee is relying on the skill and judgment of the seller or lessor to select suitable goods."
Salomon knows these skis are going to be used on rails. Mike Douglas, Sammy Carlson, Charles Gagnier, and Dumont have all said on video that with edge armour, "when you're smashing down on rails, your skis aren't blowing up." etc.... They all have said and acknowledged these skis will be used on rails and will hold up. So unless they have a big clause in there warranty on skis, which they more than likely do, they're whole advertising scheme this year is worthless and they've contradicted what they're all about.

woah,

So in other words salomon is,

faulse advertising,

And bullshitting you about there warrenty.

Like im not 100% sure but isn't that two illegal things that salomon's doing right there?

Damn I was really hoping that the webbed edge would work. in reality, any ski used enough on rails is gonna become a bit more chewed than a jump or pipe ski but its your choice really.

is this happening with a lot of the salomon suspects this year or what?

ive delamed my heads every year for 3 years on rails. they have warrantied them every time, even though i was hittin rails, and this is from head, a company whos park skis are the smallest part of their lineup. Salomon is a park and pow only company, them not warrantying rails is utter BS. I never liked the company all that much, their skis and bindings just break and their g-suit is just homo IMO...i do like most of their other outerwear though.

and as for MR Law guy person thing, id say we should follow through on that, but wed then become the most ahated ppl on NS

from what i have been told the edge armor pulls the ski apart as soon as you crack an edge. my buddy has a pair of 07 salomons and there still riding like new. i think all the new gear is just getting more expensive and made with less quality.

your front tip delaminated, thats a little different from rail damage.

You can do a lot of damage to skis in 20 days, shitty that salomon can't make a quality product but I'd be surprised if any company warrentied those skis.

Yeah I was looking at a pair of Suspects the other day and that's what I thought would happen.. it would just rip apart and stress the whole area around the crack..

ive cracked the edges of 3 pairs of twintips the first day ive used them... (dynastar, and 2x rossis) .. Armada is the only pair which it hasnt happened to.. but really, you dont notice anything when ur skiing
