WTF NEWSCHOOLERS!!!! (idea hate)

I passed my idea dvd to my park rat freind and he just watched it and he was like "ohh the movie wasnt that nice, at the end I wanted to sleep" then I said but yo you gotta admit that the first part at mount hood and parc city was golden and he was like "yeah...but that backcountry was annoying and not nice, they were only doing little tricks like 180s and sw 360s..." and I was like wtf that movie show the biggest level of backountry riding and he was like "but they only did 180s and sw360" then I say thats revolutionnary nobody but those guys can do that in the pow and hes like" duh sw 360 is like the easiest trick ever" and then he says that he could pull it at any ttime on a jump big like in idea in the pow(he never rode pow in his entire life) and then we argue as hell and long story short he says that pep fujas isnt that good...YES, YOU HEARD ME!!!11

im just so fucking pumped I blocked him on msn and I needed to rant cause I just hate my park rats friends that prefer watch liam downey do 12 times the same rail pis penis stezze 270 than the extroardinary and revolutionnary thing that is IDEA.

I just needded to get that out.
 
well, since Idea is the best ski movie ever made, I'd have to disagree with your friend.
 
i dunno. i agree with your freind to a degree. like in lss for example steele does a huge sw cork 7 into powder. but in idea it just shows smaller tricks in the same setting with a little more flow.
 
yeah ur being just as close minded as he is. People are pushing the sport in different ways and different directions. To me its all progression wich is good.
 
i liked the movie because it showed flow and yknow what?! i have MUCH more fun on a roller or pow drop than on a 60' table or multi kink rail. and thats what i wanna see.
 
It was a DECENT movie, but it had some of the sickest tricks I have seen. It wasnt the best movie made becuse some parts sucked balls, and didnt keep my eyes glued the the screen.
 
that movie was amazing!!! especiallyu the baker part, cuz i was like, damn, ive skiied there. but i felt like i was left hanging, wasnt long enough.
 
Not all the tricks were small spins in the backcountry. Pep throws a 9 and sw 9. Pollard does a sw 7. Also sometimes throwing slow spins on huge jumps is very hard because wind hits you so hard and when you are throwing a cork seven it doesnt effect you as much. The main thing I wish Idea had was a rocker park ( butters and presses) segment. There was little but Im sure much more went down.
 
ok, here's the deal...if you want to see "tricks", maybe this movie isn't for you, if you want to see "skiing", then it is.

Thank you for including me in your incoherent, French-impaired rant. Like you, I also aspire to do the great things which Pollard, Mahre, Pep, and Iberg have accomplished. However, I suggest you reconcile with your park rat Quebec homie first. You guys still have like 4 more years of Mont St. Anne boxes before your mom will let you move out of the house.

In regards to the whole LD comment, did you watch LSS? Did you see his flat (rodeo? no, i think it was flat) 9 on the BC stepup? It was probably the cure for cancer it was so good.

yeah but thats not powder into powder

and its not a cliff

so there is practicly nothing the same

sure he lands switch but its completley differnt

in idea they use the landscape to do smaller bettter looking tricks with more flow
 


FOR RIGHT OR WRONG: check it out.

Yes, its a snowboard movie made Burton. Yes, it has a little too much Shaun Weezy for one sitting. BUT- it welcomes the growing diversity in the "sport" (skiing is really not any different). Skiing is kind of like music, not one single aspect will appeal to EVERBODY...the point is to enjoy it however you want to, but don't ram your personal version down other people's throats. There is "soul" in every aspect, just as long as you're having fun.

I know IDEA isn't forcing anybody to do it their way...it is just a style that they relate to in skiing, and putting out some good messages of their own.
 
I don't think idea is the best movie because theirs not enought big tricks.

Maybe its hard to ski switch or to land switch in pow but i still prefer a steezed big trick on a big air or on a back country kicker then a sw 3 in the pow
