Burton used to make something like that except it was a snowboard that could split and turn into cross country skis so you could get around the back country easier. It looked way better than that thing. It's a bad idea tho b/c it wont perform well as skis or a snowboard.

you can still buy splitboads so that snowboarders can ski mountaier up and bord down, i thinks thats a good idea. this on the other hand sucks animals balls, while they poo. the people that make them too are totally serious about it, they aren't even marketing it as a "just for fun" kind of thing, it's funny.

Dude, a ton of companies make splitboards to this day....they're pretty much the tool of choice for a TON of BC snowboarders.

On the other hand, if I actually saw someone on one of these on the hill I'm pretty sure I would be overwhelmed by the urge to bitchslap them.

you know where they sell those things? cities like chicago, to the d-bag guidos that dont know any better and think its totally fokin awesome to be able to board and ski on the same day. the stock them right next to the leather coats and knit gloves in the ski section of chicagoland sporting goods stores
