what the fuck is up with freeskier? their merchandise warehouse burned down the day i bought a bunch of shit from them. Road Trip Challenge was a joke, their was only three episodes instead of nine, and now i havent got an issue since early janurary. Either their really messing up over there or someone is doing a good job at sabotaging them
 
atleast their on top of ffl -- always opening trading on time or occasionally not at all, explaining the scoring, telling us what comps are weighted and how, aahhhh shit, they don't care. these guys are livin the life. skiing. boozing. whatever. they do hook us up with some pics and vids. i was into it, but really i'm just stoked that my mtn is having the best season in decades. fuck the rest of it. skiing is fun.

 
last issue was like january .,.. the one with tanner hall... and it says leave on shelf til may.

we really need more issues. lioke half of them arent even real issues anyway. buyers guide? photo annual?

 
damn..i thought there was a delay and I was gonna get another 3 issues..I thought powder/freeskier ran well past january..thats probably why I haven't had issues of either for a few months
 
RTC's 1 & 2 were epic and awesome, then the wait for 3 was gay, and it wasn't as good, and now we're proobably going to have to wait another 4 months or whatever it was for #4.
 
they have deff slacked off since they got their new website i find

you guys need to make the jump over to powder magazine. they actually give a shit and put awesome articles in the mag along with the best pictures
 
magazine is wack. they have no clue whats really going on, same people in the mag all day. all they do is suck money out of companies for bullshit advertising, besides letting you know what all the highest paid skiers are doing they dont do a thang for us. Shit compared to freeze. that mag did things for skiing.

and RIP to AXIS mag as well. Hang on to those issues if you got em, gold.
 
i have like 9 of those "one year subscribtion free things" turns out you can only send one in per year, they wont add them up for you and just leave you alone for nine years. . what a waste
 
there isn't one employee at freeskier who owns a snowmobile, therefore street rails, comps, and park take up the majority of the mag. plus, the majority of submitting photogs don't own a snowmobile either, so again, street rails, comps, and park are what you get. ever notice there isn't much if at all bc kickers, natural jumps (excluding powder turns)....those take the real work to get and freeskier doesn't have the dedicated staff or submitting photogs getting the goods. shit, they put a girl making a blurry pow slash on last year's photo annual. satisfied, hardly.
 
meh, they have some really sick pictures and some interesting interviews, don't care too much about the rest. I don't pay for it so I'm not gonna be complaining...

They knew what was going on. They put TJ Shiller on the cover as soon as they knew he was sick. They had the best articles and they really gave a shit about the industry. I just bought the last issue of Freeskier with Tanner Hall and there wasn't much good articles, it was pretty empty. As soon as I read Tanner's part, the issue was done, it kinda sucks. They had some pretty good issues but it doesn't feel as true as FREEZE. Whatever, I'll keep buying it but it's not THE SHIT.
 
hahah i subscribed to them for 2 years and they sent me 6 issues of snowboard magazines then after numerous emails and what not they just stopped sendnig me anything
 
I don't care if the RTC was only three episodes, that series was fucking awesome. Seriously great stuff. I hope they do it again. Members from both teams got injured anyhow, so.. it's understandable..
 
yea it was sick but there was meant to be nine episodes, they keep saying that there nearly ready but they never are. maybe episode 4 will come out on july, if we are lucky
 
2-3 years ago i'd get 3 issues of each months freeskier because of all the free subscription shit they did
 
to those hating on freeskier i fully agree, fucking pussy's sucking the dicks of 5 "ultra pros" 

in no way have they supported the new generation of skiers, the whole level 1 crew has basically no press from the issues ive read (and when i say read, i mean flip through it in about 10 min spit on it and put it back on the shelf then i buy a snowboard mag), let alone the theory-3 crew

oh and photos? ANOTHER angle of the same fucking jump with the same lighting with the same skier, no rails, lets alone street rails, let alone anything creative, pow shots are fun, but they are all same...

the reason for all this? personally i think they are out of touch with the youth of skiing. they have this warped image of skiing and how everyone is aspiring to be the next jon olsson, when in fact there are lots of kids who are trying to do their own thing, and get no love in the process. the only thing that freeskier has done well in the last five years is the road trip challenge, nothing else

 
stop bitching for real... its a good magazine, if you dont like it try to make a better one.

and im pretty sure i paid 3 bills for 3 years or something rediculously cheap like that so im not complaining
 
they are deffinently out of touch with the core of freesking today, and dont care about new and different ideas about what people are doing on the slopes. like earlier this year there was the thread about how they rufused to even TAKE pictures of skiers who were no-polers

and ive also had my fair share of problems with gettin mags on time, or at all and its bullshit.

while we are on a little hate binge here, let's take a look at your little 2-bit operation. "Formatted Clothing" is what you call it, right? let' see. well, for starters you can take the word "Clothing" off the name and go ahead and call yourself "Formatted Screen Prints", because buying schwag wholesale t-shirts and printing extrordinarily lame images on them is definately not a "Clothing" company. And I guess "Formatted" works though because the word "Format" means something that has a pre-established layout, which would be a nice way to explain the extremely cliche and generic renderings that appear on your schwag t-shirts. compare this to any half-way decent clothing company in any other sport and it is laughable. actually....it is not laughable, it is beyond that.

i am not the biggest fan of freeskier magazine, but they have come a LONG way from what the magazine was. The sports like skating and surfing that have better magazines also have significantly bigger audiences and therefor significantly more photogs, writers, videographers, and athletes to shoot. when you have that sort of talent pool the final product is going to be better naturally. i think the new site is sick and they put a ton of time into it.

you seem to be really opinionated for someone who has done nothing for skiing. and do not even think for 1 second that you are contributing to our sport by printing a few tees. if anything you have further deteriorated the style of skiers who wear your weak sauce shirts. it is a momumental step back from what Armada, Jiberish, and Line have done to help with skiing softgoods.

now go ahead and take a time-out for 10 minutes and i will let you know when you can come back and play with the other kids
 
All you guys just need to chill, look, freeskier, like all things, slips up. so maybe they havent provided 9 episodes of the road trip challenge. But honestly, documenting all the major things that are going on in this sport is no easy job. This is typical of Newschoolers, lets all just bash on one of the main outlets that is providing support to our sport. Also seeing as how Freeskier is the only mag out there that really gets heavily involved in our sport outside of the mag, and loves park, rails, and BC, its really the only mag out there doing this, unless your gonna include powder?.... I dont know about you, but i really love to support freeskiing, i support freeskier.
