WTB: cheap rear shock

I'm posting this here to buy local, you never know, I'm looking for a rear shock like a fox vanilla RC or something similar, to replace a busted rockshox pro deluxe. I don't have the specs yet for the deluxe, but let me know if any of you mountain bikers have or know someone who's got something to sell...

Looking at spending no more than $150.

Funny you should mention that... I'm looking for the same thing. The rear suspension went in my '02 kona stinky. Vanilla Fox shocks, and I think "new" ones would cost 300-450$. No thanks.
 
what size are you looking for? eye-to-eye, stroke length and spring rate? If you put the wrong one in there, it's not going to work very well.
 
whoa...i have one sitting in my tool box. i used it for my backup off my big hit, but i dont have a bike anymore. $75 and its yours...

Its a fox vanilla R...come check it out...
 
when measuring, do you include the eyes or not? How do I find out the stroke length (distance between coils or something???) and the spring rate?
 
Eye to eye: distance between the centre of the holes that mount the shock.

Stroke length: the distance that the shock travels when fully compressed (without the spring).

Spring rate: How stiff the spring is, usually measured in pounds, written on the spring.

This is usefull when trying to buy a shock online, to make sure you get the right one.
