WTB: 169 BENTS

^^yeah i think 5'4 counts as midget too i think. if you're planning on spinning at all with a ski that big, the 179 would be too much i suppose.

you have to remember that these skis are 40/40 rockered, so your skiing on a very small percentage of the ski, with the hellbents id say when in doubt go up a size, I skied the 179's and the 189's and the 189's even felt small

i think it depends on what you want to do. if you want to try to charge with them than upsizing is probably the right call. i want to jib, trick, spin and switch slash with them. i think the more manageable 169 will be right for me.

anyone know where to get some?

cool, but they don't have the size i'm looking for and they're more than 200 bucks out of my stated price range. thanks though.

^yeah but cibbles post was more in the right range i guess, and any help is appreciated. i think i might wait for a bit, unless someone can help me find a killer deal (hopefully some used skis!)

and i'm getting a powder twin cuz i want to do the butters and spins and stuff in the powder, not the park.

^thank you. i'm 5'4 120 looking to do switch 7s on them, not charge chutes, so i'm gonna be needing that 169. if anyone knows a good cheap spot to snag them or has some used ones for sale give me a shout, thanks.

search barred good looking out man thanks. also if anyone has some used skis, that would be prime as well.

true, but she also knows how to rip hard and handel her skis... not to say this kid sucks or is a noob, cuz im not but Parker is a professional.

yeah and she does 360s on them so big deal. i want to jib and butter and whip my skis around and shit and i don't need 184cms of heavy ass k2 swing weight to get in the way. for 500 bucks i'm going to get the ski size i actually need instead of trying to compensate for some dude on the internet. get off it already.

and if anyone has any used bents, please PM me i'd love to work something out. thanks.

yeah well i'm not skiing them on groomers, so i don't give a shit about the contact patch dude. they're for powder. spatulas ski like a 30cm skiboard, but does that mean they suck when they get in deep shit and the entire ski comes in contact with the snow? no. they kick ass. 169 bents will too.

thanks for bumping my thread but seriously i know what ski i need.

169s have an actual running length of 174cm and it wouldnt be like snowblading at all. since he's 5'4" it would be stupid to get 179s unless all he wants to do is ski big lines with them, which is clearly not what he's looking for.

Also, I already gave you a link to untracked's 169s and told you to look for a promo code. It's not that hard to do your own work, is it?

Anyways, I'm just offering my opinion. I know it seems like its the sam as everyone elses, but maybe a lot of people just think you should be on a bigger ski.

trust me, i've been doing my homework, i said "good looking out" about the link, and i searchbarred the promo code. it's still a little more than i'd like to pay, so i've been keeping this thread up to see if anyone has used skis or a deal i might have missed.

while i appreciate a diversity of opinions, i have a great understanding of the kind of skiing i like to do, and i've tried a bunch of different ski sizes. i know what's manageable for me, and what's not. a 179 with 150mm in the tip is just too much ski for me to spin and throw around the way i enjoy. and the difference between having 150 or 140cm of contact isn't very important to me. either will ski short on the groom, and i would rather have fun in the pow on the ski that's the right size. so, i'm gonna keep this thread at the top and see if anyone has a 169 for sale at the right price. thanks again for the opinion, but there is no way that i will have as much fun on a 179 as i will on a 169.

Ok, well, happy hunting. I am just expressing my concern. I got 189s a couple months ago and they are awesome. I don't think it is too much ski personally. I like long skis.

What promo codes did you find? The only thing I could find on the searchbar was '2008' which didn't do anything for me

I'm 5'6 and weigh 115. I tried the 179s for a few runs. Best thing ever in powder and crud, not horrible on groomed snow, but they are heavy. I could barely pop a 180 on them without a jump, and I can usually do 270s on my 165-170cm park skis. I think 169 would work for someone looking for that agility, although I'm not sure how much weight it would save.
