WSKI = Disappointing

i saw the video too. That video was probably the most worked up and talked up video of the year. The editing doesnt have much direction and doenst have much energy in the music. There is some after effects talent with the tons of commericals through the video, but i wanted to see alot more skiing and alot less gangsters in studios, just throwing out another view.

 
I think we can all agree it's a movie we have to see for ourselfs to judge.

i have not seen WSKI, but judging based on spun, royalty, and stereotype, it is unlikely that Eric Iberg did not make the best ski movie ever.

I highly doubt all the people saying it sucks have seen more than once, twice at the most. Based upon that it is quite difficult to give a good review of it, hell it took people like 10 views of X for them to appreciate it. So how aboput you all shut the fuck up and appreciate something different that you've been bitching and moaning about. But make sure before you watch it again you pull your head out of your ass because it could be limiting your capabilities of actually watching a movie.

okay, im pretty sick of all you guys bashing on terman the way you are. let me explain to you guys a little about him. justin is by far, one of the best skiiers in ohio.....okay, now that youre done laughing about any sort of competition as one of the best skiiers in ohio, please watch the ohio freestyle video...i beg you. its amazing....and he does know what its like to make a movie, his roommate, and friend kyle decker put the whole thing together, he saw everyhting that goes into making a good movie, the hours, the sacrifices. he is NOT just a white collar yuppy making a lot of money. he makes great money, and he said that as a retort to someone else, and he still has time to put in probably 50 days plus a season. ohio has the greatest scene any of you will ever see. its amazing snow trails is like any resort out west...they're continually pumping dillar after dollar after dollar into our park...big fuckin deal, we dont have the space, we have the same size ju, the same calliber rails, and unlike you pussies out west, and a lot of you in the east, we land on almost pure ice. people dont like ski movies, i really dont see why that is an oppurtunity for you noobs, (excluding a few) to bash on someone and make yourselves have sort of internet popularity. damn it terman, the kids on the internet dont like you bc you gave an opinion on a ski movie they didnt agree with, and then defended yourself.

yes, the skiing was good, but it seemed like less than half the movie was actually skiing.

 
He may be a great skier, he may know what it takes to make a great film. BUT that does not give him the right to bash the shit out of something that someone else put their blood, sweat and tears into. If he truly truly knows what it takes to do some of the great things that Iberg has done, then he shouldn't have opened his mouth. Iberg's movies in the past have been known as great works in the ski industry, and if you don't like it, fine, you more than likely aren't the only one. Someone said they loved Royalty, but hated Stereotype. From the sounds of it, Iberg makes HIS movies the way HE wants them, not to impress everyone. WSKI is the best example, he flat said, it'll be a love it or hate movie.

I'm sorry your buddy got torn into, but you have to realize why. You can't bash on something so badly and not expect someone that likes to not say something. The whole money issue may have been an answer to someone, but that's not something to brag about this bunch. Most here would rather be a piss poor ski bum if it meant taht they could ski all day everyday, and have the perks of being able to call yourself a pro. I can tell you that I work my ass off, and pull down a good amount of money, but what does that have to do with anything. Did he expect more credibility for saying that? How old is he? What's the 'huge company'? Not everyone that works for a huge company makes a lot of money. The company I work for currently is massive, but I sure as shit aren't making nearly as much as I did when I was working for a mom and pop business.

In short, the first impression I got from this thread stuck with me...FUCK YOU. Don't bitch about someone's work until you prove to everyone that YOU, YOURSELF, NOT YOUR ROOMATE(or whatever) can do better. Iberg's movies are creative, Love it or hate it, they are what they are so stop this shit.

 
I don't think white skiers should act like the thugs they do, but if it floats their boat, then leave it be. Appreciate the art and skiing. Forget about the bullshit that may be encompased in it.

expressing your personal opinion on a movie is fine. BUT its a whole nother thing to go out on a limb and tell everyone not to buy the dam movie. thats ridiculous. just because one person didnt like wski doesn't mean they need to go give this horrible impression to everyone that hasnt watched it. realize that people (iberg&co) put a full year of work into this project, and they certainly don't need someone going out and telling everybody to stay away from it.

i think alot of people WHO HAVE SEEN IT ALREADY were dissapointed not because they think iberg's films suck, but because they know how good all of them are, then this one comes out and in some peoples eyes it really blows..hence, people were let down. i myself enjoyed X and Red Tape much more than WSKI, but buy it if you want and see for yourself.

it was by far my fav of the year... i also liked redtape alot and x. i was not a huge fan of yearbook..just t-rains part. but wski is better than those

i agree with schwaglah, rorys part alone is worth buying it. rory is the best thing about skiing, he isnt sooo serious that he worries about what all the other peeps gonna say. he just smokes a splif and if he makes it to the mountain he kills it.

I know it won't be the worst ski movie I've ever seen because Iberg had something to do with it. I like his style and I like the movies I've seen in the past from him. I never said this will be the best movie I've seen because I have not seen the movie yet. For you to tell people don't buy this movie buy redtape pisses me off quite frankly. Yes, but they are from Ohioso I doubt they can actually ski. There is a difference. Sure they can huck(emphasis on the huck) but until I see them: a.) put together a creative, quality movie and b.) actually make some turns I won't have much respect for them. The whole respect thing is a vicious circle and when you have guys bashin on other people it really doesn't look too good for for him and all the peiople you associate with him.
