wich one do you guys and gals like the best? not a thing of wich one is better just witch one YOU like best.

and what gen and body style do you guys like best.

i like the previos gen subaru wrx or wrx sti hatchback and it makes me sad that they did make a hatch in the new one.

so how about you guys? feel free to include any pics or vids you guys have

My friend has a 2011 Evo X and I have a 2014 STI and we always go back and forth about what we like better. We are neck and neck stock. Handling is a tiny bit sharper on the Evo.

I see to many wrxs to like them a lot of the drivers are dicks. Evos are my dream 4g63s sound so much better than boxers IMO. Evo x is my dream car I still walk by my counselors X at school everyday and shiver from its looks. I'm over all an evo guy because they're better drivers cars with a better awd system and looks. And the drivers are chill as hell most of the time.

2012-2014 were my favorite stis now the 2015 looks fucked honestly. Jealous of both

STI drivers are like iPhone users who wait in line whenever the new one comes out.

Evo drivers are like Galaxy users who drool over tech babble and all that bullshit.

If you want a real car, swap a late 90's impreza or throw somethinb beast under the hood of an E30 and cream everyone.

sweet forester!! ya i dont think the evo is bad and i like the fact you can get it in an auto but the intero in the evo besides the seats i hear is crappy for how much it cost not that the sti and wrx inteors and really nice ether but there defently a bit nicer. the evo is probly a better car if you really want to turn it into a sright line monster. but from what i hear the subarus are better for every day use and in terms of being a rally car the subaru has alot more championships under its hood. i would agree the the evo also has more tech but the new wrx sti has alot more stuff that might make it quicker on the track like a stiffer chassi.

if someone wanted to give me ethier of the two i more then happly take the evo or the wrx but if i had my choice it would have to be the wrx

nice replys guys

and im loving that forster

They're both great cars, but I am a little biased because I do have a subie. I have a 99 Forester with a WRX swap in it and I love the rumble and just how easy it is to swap parts and work on.

This is one of my dream swaps. How hard was it? Is the drivetrain stock? Is it the shit?

And I'll always be a Subaru fanboi. The 04 STI will always be the best realistically-attainable car to me.

I like what you say but evos are easily more rally and track cars. They have an awd system almost as good as an r35. The MR edition is the pricey fucker btw. If you want a drivers car get an evo if you want a solid daily to do basic mods, get a wrx...theyre also a bitch to work on. And for manufacturers car Subaru won wrc against Mitsubishi 3-1 but Tommi Makinen won the WRC 4 years running in his evo. Personally preference but I love them both besides the fact that I saw about 10 wrxs today

don't know a lot about cars, so I'm probably out of place on this thread, but I do like the 'bug eye' Impreza sti's and I'm not a huge fan of evo's, but if an Evo is done right, it looks a lot better imo

The evo x has a 4b11 engine. Not a 4g63. The IX was the last of the 4g63 engines.

That being said. I would take an IX over ANY STI.

I know that lol. And 4g's and evo 4b's take less money to make a lot of power compared to the subaru

My $0.02 that is worth $10,000.00.

Why would you get an STi. Why? Ask yourself, is it the badge? It is the fact that it is an STi?? Subaru rocks at AWD. I agree. It's a cheaper and fast car if you're going to go for something under $30-35k. BUT, the WRX is PROVED to be quicker than the STi. The turbo lag, torque, horse, etc. on numerous dyno tests on any justified and valued shop and mag out there. Second of all, an EVO? This is Newschoolers, we're all white. If you're going Japanese, only consider Subaru (yeah, that's right. Every douche on the road is either behind a 350/370z or a variation of an Infiniti g35/37).

Save yourself the money from that mother fucking STUPID wing on the STi (which 80% get removed anyway) and get the WRX - be able to take corners, hills, and launch a little quicker. And put your saved funds towards something more tangible.

No, all douche jdm guys are in stanced subarus or have rally armors and an n1 exhaust as a replacement for the perfectly good quad tip or civics on used coils that say "all car guys respect car guys no matter what" then go race every other turbo awd or as said 350z. The wing actaully serves a purpose dipshit only stance fags take it off. The 2015 wrx is yes, faster to 60 and saves a bit of money. 4G63/4b11t over any subaru. Every guy in a g35/g37 is a guy in his mid 40's whos into cars and decided he should get a fun reliable car and doesnt think hes the shit.

worth maybe the McDouble i just stuffed in me before class.

Get an Evo VIII - X if you can afford it. They handle better around corners than the STI. Yeah the AWD is tits in the STI but like many have said, the WRX is going to be faster than the STI. Don't just focus on looks.

would be a couple grand more probably, but seeing as you are in canada get an R32 skyline. I'm assuming i don't need to explain how awesome these cars are, but a short summary...intelligent AWD system, all wheel steering, twin turbo 2.6L straight 6. would absolutely destroy the sti and evo on the road, and could hold its own on a rally course too.

as for racing rally the wheelbase is a bit long, and the AW streering doesn't work so well in a drift. Ive always thought my dream rally car would be a silvia or 240sx with the full RB26-ATTESSA AWD swap. only a few people have done that swap though, not at all easy to do.

Lol, not a bad idea. A kid from my town is a total drift fag that sucks but hes got mechanic friends and money and has a rhd s13 hatch with an rb25 with a holset hx30 i believe, he basically made a show car because him and his posse arent good enough to drift at the track and do but wont admit it because he has no proper technique, still pretty cool and his friend has a fully built 97 gsx with a 600+hp 4g63, he ripped it by me with some crazy turbo spool and a bit of flame and hes tuning it this week to more i think.

it was a bitch and kinda didn't plan on doing it, but my old Ej25 let go so my mechanic gave me a good deal on it, and i already had the cobb tuner so it was just drop and play. but its more of a sti forester hybrid motor because i kept my heads for the sake of saving money on the tune. i chose to keep my 4eat in the foz just because i have a few manual cars and i don't like driving them all the time as a daily. so drive train is all stock but i do have wrx struts on there as of now.. looking into bagging it for the sake of being able to rally it at time but have it low every other time.

well no wrxs are not faster then a sti. wrx is the 2.0 block vs the sti 2.5 block, while the td04 has a quicker spool then the sti's vf39, it is by no means faster. given gearing and smaller turbo on the wrx it may be faster on the first 50 feet but after that .. bye bye. would it be wise to buy a wrx and swap in 3 parts and then be faster then a sti for under 2k extra .. well ya. sti's are over priced for the small differences between the it and the wrx.

complete car noob about to ask a really stupid question..probably. I have an 01 subi outback impreza sport, all stock everything with over 250,000 miles on it. I want to know if its possible/worth it to swap the current setup for something with a little more power, maybe wrx? idonno im not car smart/i like the car want to drive it for a while more. Would it be worth it to do this? Or am i better off just buying a new car?

evo's are better in pretty much every way, having spent a good amount of time in both, different years of both, the STI is a numb understeering pig, you have to force it and trick it into handling somewhat well. Where the EVO is sharp responsive, has great feel, does what you want and wants to do it, feels much more second nature to drive. better in snow, more of a "rally car" in its stock form, though i hate how people call their street going sti's and evo's "rally cars"

the one good thing about the STI is you can put big DC and monster stickers all over it, throw on your flat bill, hang your goggles from the mirror, and fit in with all the cool kids.

dont, to many miles better off getting a 2002-2006 wrx or forester xt

pretty sure they tested the fq-360 evo against the 08 STI in this... Pretty unfair comparison.

Well they get the fq models in UK but if you took a 2012 sti to a 2012 evo gsr it would be fair. I still like how both clarkson and tanner foust say evo is better than the sti for hard use like tracks or rally

If you're looking for performance don't go bagged. I see the appeal though. Just find a nice compromise in ride height.
