Writing.

ok so I've been doing some writing. (guitar and lyrics) But what I always come up with is phrases with a different meaning using similar words. And likewise in my guitar I'm getting patterns in songs which I don't want at all. The two are rarely matching up, and I can't sing.

hmm I don't know where to start or what to do. I feel stuck in a huuuuge rutt, any suggestions? or should I just start playing powerchords and mumble and smoke so much crack that my voice gets scratchy?

the best cure for writers block in anything, for me, is to just take your mind off of trying to think something up. go do something completely unrelated and let your brain drift. u should come up with something when u dont expect it so you might wanna carry around a notepad or sumthing.

This rant has brought to you in part by the Gomer corporation. Bringing you quality bablings since January.

A friend of mine says it helps her to listen to music with lyrics you cant understand really and just makes it up in her mind what they are saying. Usually you get drastically different lyrics because you hear what you want to hear and what you think fits not what they are actually saying. Just make sure you arent blatanly ripping people off

I write, but not songs. Someone already said this, but I know it works: go and do something else, think about something else and imidiately you'll be right back to it. Trust me. The best way is to just let it flow and not worry. Just relax and put it all down and then fix it later.

'My soul is a like a ruby

And I threw it in the earth

But now my hands are bleeding

From scrabbling in the dirt

And I look up to the heavens

And a light is on my face

I never never never

Thought I'd find a state of grace' - Joy by Mick Jagger

the best songs will come to your head when you least expect it...as dumb as it sounds...sappy music is always the best...emo i mean. my friend eric listens to that when he writes william tell routine songs and they did a full blown u.s. tour last year.
