That guy ISS a douche. That's good that you were respectful to him and didn't try to make things worse. You should find out from the people that own that property if you can set up your stuff there then shove it in his face.
 
well, honestly, if all of us were 40 years older and didn't care about skiing we would've kicked you out also. he was right about the fact that he'll take the fall if one of you got hurt, it seems like a dick move but if you were him and old and didn't know about skiing you would've stopped them too. dick of him to kick over the setup though, that's ghey
 
Well, that's to be expected, but we tried to be nice and he was a dick. There was no sign about trespassing or private property (we looked) and was just a complete penis about the whole thing. We've gotten kicked out of other spots before and people were cool with it. Besides - why the fuck would we sue him? Obviously its logical to think that, because the majority of America is like that, but its just angering because all of our parents aren't like that.

Whatever, its over. I'm just worried about the fact that he has my buddies plates and my other friends face, hahahaha
 
was the rail on his property? if it was he's completely withtin his right to kick down your set up.
 
well he could of been respectful and nice to them, and just cause theyre set up is on his property dosnt give him the right to kick it down.

Yeah, he was angry and asking you to leave. But the liability stuff is real. And at least he let you guys talk and didn't freak out and try to take your skis and stuff.

Definitely seen much worse reactions in people.
 
Hahahahaha, werd. It was our first real boot though, and we've been kicked out of places a bunch of times before and they were at least chill about it - that's why we were surprised that he was mean about it.
 
There are crazy people who would have tried to take your skis, your camera, etc. Those situations go bad really quick.

I was longboarding in the parking lot of a hospital with my buddy yesterday. Neither of us are skaters, in fact we took both longboards from kids on our hall, and the security guard came over and explained to us that the hospital would appreciate it if we would not skate in the lot.

It made me realize that everything is so much easier when people are polite. The security guard was super cool about it, he just was doing his job. If I was in your situation, I would have done the same thing. In situations like that, you just have to kill them with kindness.

yeah ummm, i'm pretty sure it does give him that right. if some shit is on my property that i don't want being there, i kick that shit over if i feel like it. i mean, i'm not saying its "cool" or like straight of him, but if you go put something on someone else's property, they can fuck it up if they want to.

and you did the right thing you were super respective, and thats the trick. You guys should have called the cops haha, every cop ive ever talked to skating is real respective if we are respective too (a trick with every cop no matter what situation. It got me out of a $500 no insurance card fee)

exactly, skaters have earned the reputation as punk assholes who fuck up places so that's why security guards/workers always get nervous when they're around. they just don't want to have to work more and they're so hard on skaters because of the reputation they've earned. maybe nobody on ns is, which i doubt, but a lot of skaters are huge assholes like vallely who don't even come close to earning respect and then they go complain about getting none

to the thread creator, i thought you kept your composure well and it was good of you to be respectful to the old man, you didn't do anything harmful to anyone and you wouldn't have sued but you were a victim of the reputation of asshole skaters caused by people like vallely
 
don't take a no from someone who doesn't have the authority to say yes. but that gets thrown out the window when the cops are called.
