eh idk man, UFC started with NO rules then as their talent pool/popularity increased the added a few small rules. Pride had way less talent and no cage, lame

and seriously, the no cage thing... i loved much better. the cage makes it kinda boring as it limits the ways people can move in the ring. in the boxing rope ring knockouts would have people falling out of the ring and other things like that.

i could be partial to Pride though because my cousing fought in Pride and is now fighting in the former owner of Pride's new promotion Dream. i gotta be honest, Pride fights were amazing cause there was always the Grand Prix Tournament at every show as well.
 
ugh theres a reason why Pride is extinct man. Out of all those names you mentioned, Rampage was the only one to do shit in UFC. With all that great talent you think the league could have produced more than one short-lived UFC champ. You talk about them like they're some of the best fighters in the world when really they were only the best fighters in a lesser organization. Beating Lidell is no longer impressive.

Of course the cage limits the way people can move, thats the whole point, its a fucking fight not a game of tag. The cage plays a part in almost every fight, how often did someone actually fall out of the ring in Pride
 
Shogun has done crap in UFC. The Axe Murderer has as well. not to mention these guys were running in Pride for a LONG time before UFC started getting uber popular like it is now. Pride, sure, had its games of tag in it... but UFC has that as well. it never became a game of tag the way boxing is sometimes i think we can both agree on that.
