Wow my ski and snow board club really sucks

so the ski and snow board club showed two movies last night, these days by transworld for the boarders and CLAIM the greatest ski movie ever, and they fucking skipped three quarters of the chapters in claim. seriously wtf is wrong with boarders, i patiently sat through all off these days, just to have them skip the majority of claim.

its sad too cause all that these days was nothing other than border porn, just jump jump rail rail the whole time, no shots of epic pow or technical descents. fucking park rats.

The best kid by far in our club is a skier, so the snowboarders are getting more interested in what we're all about. But yes they still all shout "SICK!!!!!" when they see a backflip.

my school has the best club in the area by far. we have local trips and a trip out west every year. this year we're going to keystone and breck, so pumped.

I just opened a "ski/snowboard film & discussion club" but my schools insurance is lame as fuck so we cant actually go skiing as a "club" but we can watch movies and arrange rides so its not to bad.but I'm going to try to get an equal amount of skiing and boarding

my ski club at highschool is decent i guess, rides up to the mountain on wednesday afternoons

Our ski club is pretty chill. We have more snowboarders, but it doesnt really matter. We almost never watch ski/snowboard movies on bus rides, we always watch random movies people bring. And Im the president so yeah, our ski club is awesome

zomg you are too cool! and everyone in that club participates in homoerotic acts with each other!!!!!1!!!

all we have is a race ski club.....and i live thirty minutes from whistler....no freeride club, and all we get is three days on the mountain

Yea, my ski&board club is a gaper club. There is like 4 people who are decent. Then 2 that are actually good. That's it. Out of all 6 of those people I am the only skier :(

My school showed Claim, The matchstick movie and Warren Miller. It was pretty sweet to have all ski movies and they also had the Banff Film Festival which was pretty sick. They had a club meeting like a year ago and hella people showed up but it must not have been approved cause never heard about it again which is too bad. Meh oh well I got a big enough crew to ride with.

my ski and snowboard club pretty much didnt have a meeting... there was just a table with the forms on it

usually we get a ski/snowboard movie of a bunch of bc stuff because we live on the east coast and never see it in real life.

and we go on 4 trips to the closest big resort

i live on the east coast and my ski club is about half and half a bunch of good boarders and skiers. Last year our club received a shuttle bus from keystone to use. We put two 26" to watch ski movies when we drive!

my club owns all your clubs!!!

but probably because i've been semi running it for the past 3 years. We get a house in mammoth for 6-7 months each year and ski thursday-sunday jeaaaaaaa. We just had a railjam on campus 2 weeks ago. wahoo

check it out - we do weekly video updates and pictures every week too.

Boulder Freeride is mostly gapers who are trying to be cool and fit in. Seriously.

All the best skiers I have ever known at CU never wasted their time with that stupid be-seen-fest.

man, i wish my school let me do thatw/e at least i opened a ski club even if we can only arrange rides and watch moovies

I was at a movie premier at an university a few weeks ago and they were playing turbo and journal and two other snowboard movies. journal was the first one they played and pretty much everyone was there then the snowboard movie came on and more people showed up then turbo came on and 75% of the people left so there pretty much was just skiers left. then they stopped turbo half way through saying "it was to long" and played the last snowboard video all the way through. and the last snowboard vid definitely was no where as good as turbo I was pretty pissed off

Sac State Ski & Snowboard Club is pretty dope, though for our movie night we got two crappy snowboard movies. But the rest of the stuff they do is pretty cool, like cabin in tahoe, and trip to Telluride in January. There's probably 20-25% skiers in the club too.

+1

Then you have an elitist group of about 10 people, split boarders and skiers who basically run the whole thing and are generally assholes.

I went and emailed one of the guys in charge about how they could host a poorboyz premiere and it would get them money... the guy emailed me back

"ya ask the other guy on the committee"

So i was like.. well fuck off, I'm trying to help you guys out here.

nice. purdue's ski and snowboard club will be down in telluride as well. you guys goign with lifestyleZ? the 4th-9th?

i am assuming everyone is speaking of clubs for uni or college.

I myself am part of the Laurier Ski and Snowboard club (LSSC) which is dominated by snowboarders and ex-racers who think they are the king of the hill. the LSSC is taking a trip to Jay Peak in january and i'll be there

Transfer to University of Colorado.

Boulder Freeride.

Biggest collegiate club in the country. My freshman year they took us to an all night rager at an airfield in Brush, CO then we lit a bunch of couches on fire and jumped out of airplanes the next morning.

And i didn't even puke on my instructor.

last year the club at RPI sucked, they only ran weekend trips to random mountains and the price was $20 for the bus + full lift ticket. Nobody ever signed up for them and the whole year I had to bum rides to stratton or okemo. I only got to go skiing while at college 6 times, lame.

This year it's way better though, one of my friends is running it and they're gonna have buses to okemo and stratton every weekend for the people with the SOS pass. Prob doesn't sound good but for me it works since I'm an hour+ away from any decent mountain.
