...what's humorous about that? do you find it funny that he wants people to know his own opinion about his own video?
 
stop the hate and just realise that this kid is good. it's ok to not like the video or promo BUT you don't need to be on here like a lil bitch complaining that slandis is just stating his opinion and correcting himself, hes not defending himself i dont think he just doesnt want us to get the wrong conseption of him/his vid. This is all speculation of course.
 
Wait, Slandis, you are in high school right? What year? If that's like a 14-15 year old kid I don't think you should be hating. That is ridiculous. When I was 15 I was nowhere near park skiing or doing tricks. He is looking as stylish as anyone so if you are trying to say that it is ok, then there is something wrong with you.
 
Half this site is a bag full of douches.

I think Landis is what sponsors need..people need to understand that there is more to sponsorship than being able to pull certain tricks.

PR and Attitude is more important than anything, as when the public percieves someone as a cock they aren't going to buy the product.

Landis puts a different angle on things and tries to mix it up a bit. I know is i was a team manager looking for new guys for the team i would much rather someone with style, personality and drive, than some little cock that thinks his pretzels are better than god.
 
^ I was going to say a prime example is jibij (although everyone has mad skills ha!) - but each team member has such a great attitude about the company - as a result people just want to be associated with the name!

the vid is different thats for sure. i bet the average adult/ski rep would find it impressing and shit, but for those who know about skiing and making vids.....eh. but on a more serious note, if you do oyur first ever 7 and 9 and both are unnatural. you may want to reconsider your natural way of spinning.

ive seen this like 3 times, this is what helped him pick up surface. it is honnistly the best promo ever tho.

It got me so pumped to ski for some reason, and I'm going to watch it again right before i ski this weekend.
 
damn, im glad my promo isnt up, if you guys do this to landis, you would tear me apart. many people dont know landis first hand, but he is probably the nicest, most humble talented skier that i know. i saw his promo, and just like most of you, i was floored at how much it made me want to sponsor him with my own wallet. so i asked him to make me one, of a similar format, and you would be suprised as to how well it was accepted. i am so sick of watching a shitload of unedited skiing with rap and techno laid over the top of it (aside from wallisch, that shit never gets old) and when i saw landis's i was relieved. the kid was 15 years old when he made it and already hes changed the way the promo movies are made, i guarentee next years crop of promos will have tons that parallel his style. at 16 years old, hes got a bright fucking future in this game.
 
That was the best promo vid I've ever seen. Sick 15-year old skiers are a dime a dozen. Skiing ability isn't all that sets you apart from the pack. Maturity, work ethic and commitment (which he clearly describes) are more attractive to companies. I'm very interested to see what happens. Good Luck Landis.
 
I would always rather watch well made promos or edits like this, than the most bad ass skier with the prerequisite punk or hip hop thrown over top. The other stuff I've seen from the Sloth accomplishes what I think is the hardest part of film making, which is to convey all of the feelings that are skiing.
 
agreed. getting sponsored is about promoting the company, and that doesn't always mean being the absolute best. keep doing what you're doing and ignore the kids on this site who are too immature to admit that, damn good promo.

deosnt mean being mediocure and just knowing how to work a camera. theres more claiming done in this promo than when dumont lands he halfpipe run with a flat 10 no grab penis style.

Well Slandis is deffinitely an interesting name. I think hes goet a certain amount of talent for some things, like being creative in the BC. Then at other things like park and rails/urban hes just very mediocre.
