Yeah I feel like for me who they vote for matters less. If they're a shitty person with some really shot beliefs they might vote for a person that I don't like, and for somewhat fucked reasons, but it would be more about them than that vote.
A lot of people are really just good people trying to make the best of it. Trying to stay afloat, feed themselves or their families. Politics is kind of a messy shitshow. It seems like a lot of the time these people don't really represent us.
You're not a bad person if you voted for trump or biden, but there are definitely shitty people on both sides.
I'm really not into the cancel culture let's make a scene people, or the gay and brown people should die go white jesus types. But at least generally it seems like those are the extremes. Unfortunately people are getting pulled farther in those directions.
You can take kids from all around the world that don't speak the same language and throw a soccer ball down, and they're going to have a great time. Adults could hang around and have a few beers at a bbq, play some cornhole or something and shoot the shit.
I think or at least hope that most people are just decent honestly. Maybe the party they support sucks, or maybe they're pulled to the extremes a little bit under stress in these times, but I don't think most people are asshole. There are plenty, but generally I feel like you can have a beer, some fun, and find some common ground with just about anyone. I hate the idea that's pushed that if you're not on my side you're an irredeemable pile of shit. Maybe I'm naive but I don't believe that. I just don't like how everything seems to try to divide us.
