Would you ride this?

Hi fellow jibbers!

I'm thinking of a career in ski design and I need your help to make me better at designing. What you think of this design? Any tips on what to improve?

i don't like riding skis if I can't tell what the graphic is/means. Can you explain?

It's a robot inspired by steampunk, a subgenre of science fiction. I've used plenty of hours just on the robot just to crop away large parts of it to make it fit the ski xD

nice...i like it and would def ride them...on thing tho and im not being a hater or anything i like the graphic its baller..

in my opinion i dont like the dotted lining on the front of the skis

I think it looks ok, but its a little abstract for my liking. I had no idea it was a robot until you said. Steampunk shit rules though, lets see some brass bindings.

when i saw those, the first thing that popped into my mind was deltron 3030, so yes i would ride them

I like the design but quite honestly the color combo sucks. the yellow and brown just aren't doing it for me, sorry dude.

kinda gotta put the graphics away from the underside of the boot/binding area and keep it where ppl can see it, other than that, would buy those

dont take my future job btw, i want to engineer the wood core and all that shit

theyre nice, ive always loved skis that make a picture when next to eachother, like one completes the other.

Add more detail. Most skis don't have big flat open colors like at the top and bottom.

If you add texture/detail it will make the skis pop. Details may be small but when you get up close to the skis they will look a lot sicker.

Not bad, but I got an issue. It looks like the tips are smaller than the tails or maybe I am just seeing things.

those are real cool, i like what u did with tha tips, just not my taste though. im curious to see some of your other designs, could you post some more?

Id definantley ride these, as for feedback i would take off the "stiching" type thing that runs around the front tips. just my idea. nice design overall though.

Those are looking good man

one piece of advice though... don't look into a career in "ski design". You will never find enough work to pay the bills! Start working as a designer, working in print media at a firm, and go to school if you can. Then make some contacts and work your way into skis, as well as what you are doing

really nice. id want to design some skis in an adam haynes inspired way. theyd look so ballin

bluehouse is doing a ski design contest, it might still be going on.

if you are serious about this as a future career, submit some designs.

it could be a good jumpstart, or at the very least, get feedback from a company on your designs

TWoods: Yeah, I know that a career in just "ski design" doesnt pay the bills, but i'm trying to aim for the action sports market which appeal to me. I'm just 17 now and doing this as a hobbie and i'm going to try to do some freelance work to run along with my education. At the moment I have no expences so I can chill for some years further to I move out.

markd13$: Thnx for the tips, i'll show you my submission when i'm done with it.

Thnx all for the great feedback and good advice. I'll try to make something less abstract this time. I'll post it when i'm done.
