I'm thinking of a career in ski design and I need your help to make me better at designing. What you think of this design? Any tips on what to improve?
It's a robot inspired by steampunk, a subgenre of science fiction. I've used plenty of hours just on the robot just to crop away large parts of it to make it fit the ski xD
I think it looks ok, but its a little abstract for my liking. I had no idea it was a robot until you said. Steampunk shit rules though, lets see some brass bindings.
those are real cool, i like what u did with tha tips, just not my taste though. im curious to see some of your other designs, could you post some more?
Id definantley ride these, as for feedback i would take off the "stiching" type thing that runs around the front tips. just my idea. nice design overall though.
one piece of advice though... don't look into a career in "ski design". You will never find enough work to pay the bills! Start working as a designer, working in print media at a firm, and go to school if you can. Then make some contacts and work your way into skis, as well as what you are doing
TWoods: Yeah, I know that a career in just "ski design" doesnt pay the bills, but i'm trying to aim for the action sports market which appeal to me. I'm just 17 now and doing this as a hobbie and i'm going to try to do some freelance work to run along with my education. At the moment I have no expences so I can chill for some years further to I move out.
markd13$: Thnx for the tips, i'll show you my submission when i'm done with it.
Thnx all for the great feedback and good advice. I'll try to make something less abstract this time. I'll post it when i'm done.
