Would you read about working and living at Alta?

Hi everyone, I graduated Burlington High School last year and have been taking a gap year for the past few months. Next week, I am driving out to Utah with a buddy of mine to spend the winter working for the Rustler Lodge at Alta. If I was to make some news articles about my year, like driving west, working at the Rustler, skiing and whatever else, would anyone be interested in reading it? I haven't really done much writing before, so I'm thinking it could be some good practice.

Honestly I'll probably going to do it no matter what, but I'm curious to see if there is actually any interest.

Let me know!

" Not sure if I missed this but just saw that long time Alta skier Naomi Wain passed away back in June. For those who don't know who Naomi was she was 93, had skied at Alta for 50 years. She lived in Santa Barbara and would ski Alta for two weeks each month January through April. Naomi stayed at the Alta Lodge and would be in the singles line at the Collins lift waiting for it to open every morning, just a joy to be around. Not only did she ski eight weeks at Alta last season, she skied in the Alps, went to the Galapagos Islands, drove up Highway 1 (500 miles) by herself in April and late May. She passed very suddenly while attending the Ojai Music Festival in early June. There is a YOUTUBE clip of Naomi from a few years ago when she won the Nastar Championship in Breckenridge, She does mention that she was the only one in her age group.

TAKE A RUN FOR NAOMI"

git ya sum bro

No one needs your negative attitude dude, he's obviously gonna go ski and have fun. Writing is a way to document your life if you choose, it could be fucking awesome no one writes about alta on ns. Get over yourself

I knew some buddies that worked at the Rustler last year and stayed there for 4 days in April. Pretty cool lodge, and the mountains kick ass. I'd be down to read your story since I can relate to it.

Bro for some reason your profile pic reminds of this sketchy sid the sloth pic.

Hell yes!! I'm doing the exact same thing next year after graduation in May and have absolutely no idea what to expect. There's very little info out there about doing this type of thing. Please write about this!

Gap year in Utah was probably one of the best choices I ever made. Granted I spent about as much time partying as I did skiing if not more, but cant blame a 19 year old for having fun. Now here I am 2 years later back living on the east coast working full time at a ski shop wishing I was back out west but in the grand scheme of things that year taught me alot about the real world and myself. Send it have a blast and dont regret anything because you'll look back on it later in life and know that this epic decision will shape who you are.

Maybe so, maybe not, but either way it doesn't matter. If you want to write, go for it. Get a blog going, post your experiences. Writing is fun. It's nice if people read it, but it's fun regardless. Some of my favorite things, and imo the best stuff I've written I've never shared with anyone. Also if it was about skiing, and the ski bum life, im sure some people would read it. I might take a gander once in a while.

Just don't forget to enjoy the moment.

I have a few friends living out there always enjoy seeing pictures and hearing about what they're up to.

Safe travels westward and good luck this season!

To be real I wouldn't read it, just don't read that kind of stuff. That being said you should do it for sure! Use lots of pics for sure. Also I work at Brighton so hmu if you want to trade perks passes.

i could care less what some n00b thinks. lol[/QUOTE]

Says the dude that joined NS 2 years after me. Get that shit out of here sid
