Say Harvey decided to charge everyone $10 for a membership to acess the site. Would you pay? Is newschoolers.com realy that important to you? This would solve alot of the sites finanical problems but would people still come?

I wouldn't think twice. As soon as that anoucement came I would send in the money. The only problem with that system is very few new members would join, because they wouldn't know how great this place. But all that money could really give Harvey some options. Either way, I'm happy.

exactly what im sayin^ cuz if somebody goes to sign up they might be discouraged because of the ten bux they gotta pay. but if they get the trial period and decide they love the sight they will gladly pay, and it should be 10 bux a year, ten bux for life aint much because it would weed out all the kids who dont contribute and arent regulars here.

i think i speak for more than myself when I say that I would pay much quicker if I were to HAVE to pay than if i were to donate....mandatory would make me go like REALLY scrounge it up, while I know donating isn't MANDATORY, so I know I can pay the bills before this.

For every 10 people that *say* they would pay to acess the site, only 1 or 2 of them actually would. This ain't porn, kids.

I for one, in reality would be very unlikely to fork over my credit card #, its just reality. Donating is cool though, people who appriciate the site can offer whatever they can afford in support. Maybe there would be more quality shit on here if membership fees were the case, but its' never going to happen.

10 bucks a person from a few kids isn't going to take the site very far...the real money is in corperate sponsorship, for which NS has a lot of leeway.
