Would you pay for a mod account on ns?

No, I dont think it would be a good idea.

If someone held a grudge against another member and had the power to delete threads/posts then you know what happens. A lot of controversy would happen.
 
no. If you want your mod-power you should have to earn it, or not give a shit for a long enough time until you get asked.

depends if the winner would get recognized or remain anonymous. so they dont have to go through the embarrassments of having people know they cared so much to pay allot.
 
being a mod shouldnt be something where you can just buy your way in..no matter how cheap or what the perks are....its a sign of respect to be a mod and it wouldnt be fair to the other mods to allow some n00bs to just join em for a price
 
no i wouldnt. and i think it would be a shitty idea if anyone was allowed to. there would be mad corruption and like 1,000 mods
 
I don't think I'd ever want to be a mod, then I'd feel compelled to be productive on the internet--wait...this doesn't make sense. Anyways, I can already moderate teh shits out of my cults, so that's enough.
 
I think we should have a bitch mod who could just pwn all of the newbies on this site who are like:

I feel like the bidding would get pretty high, especially that people know that the money is going to NS anyways. If people were planning on making a large donation anyways than being a mod would be like an added bonus. I could definetly see it going up to like somewhere in the 200s. It wouldn't be some bum kid, I feel like some sort of industry type with the money would do that kind of thing though. haha like a celebrity mod of sorts.
 
You should definietly auction off some "mod for a day" or "mod for a week" awards, or a "Be Doug Bishop for a day" awards. I could see people paying tonnes to be an e version of Mr. Bishop for a day.
 
i see what you're saying. i have a hard time seeing people who dont really care about skiing or ns and who just fuck around wanting to spend real money on something like that just for bragging rights and a power trip. at the same time, i cant really see serious contributors who are really into the sport wanting to pay to increase their status on a forum site. its kind of silly when you think about it, and people worthy of being mods are generally respected here anyway. i would assume most people are happy not being mods.

If there was a week-long ebay auction, with a sticky in each forum with the link, i think it would fetch hundreds.

Although it WOULD be ridiculous to do that in the first place. A new mod should only be made if the person deserves it.

but no, i wouldnt. honestly, i don't think i would even be a mod for free if they asked me to. i go on the internet to fuck around. not take care of peoples fucking problems! :D
