Would you fight?

Yes, joining the military once i turn 18 is a very strong possibility. I feel like it would be my duty to my country and to my family. One of my grandfathers faught in World War Two, the other one faught in the Korean war, and my dad faught in both Iraqi wars.
 
Ya, I do too; I wasn't allowed to join the Navy (last month) because of it. But I'd fight if I could is what I meant.
 
no b/c when you think about it. they have all sorts of chemical weapons and stuff that could seriously mess you up and cause a slow and painfull death.
 
North Korea should spend its money on feeding the millions of starving citizens. India should continue to nurture its growing technology industry. Pakistan should work at democratization, and become a model not only for the Muslim world, but the entire world. China should realize it’s can’t continue on its path of oppression and restriction, and work on a positive and cooperative relationship with America. Who says we have to fight to be superpowers? Both our countries, and the world, would benefit from our working together. Friendly competition reaps better results than a hostile rivalry.

I agree with that paragraph. The only reason wars happen is because of arrogance and ego problems. There are much better ways to spend our time and money, but at the same time human nature does not allow for the logical solution to be the one that is used. War is inevitable because we cannot learn from our mistakes and will continue to make them time and time again until the human race is wiped off the face of the earth.
 
i would (if i was old enough)...air force or navy for me.. my grandfathers were both in the korean war, ive met a ton of guys in the military and couldnt resepct them more.. my dad works for lockheed martin so ive gotten to meet pilots and lots of people involved with that and i was in awe at their modesty and everything..i would be honored to serve
 
you'd be a pussy because you take all of your freedom foregranted and don't realize that it cost something to begin with. Even Canada had it's wars to gain freedom.
 
I dont think I'm ever going to run down to my local recruitment center and ask to be put in the military. If theres a draft or something... I dunno, depends on the situation. War is ultimate breakdown of human relations, and can be anything but honorable. I think at times the most honorable thing one can do is to stand up and stand against military action.

Then again, thats just me, I know a lot of you wont agree. Thus, to save you time and trouble, I will go ahead and call myself a 'pussy' for you. Thanks!
 
if it came down to mty country needed soldiers to win the war and protect those in it...yes i would.
 
thats a hard one to say for sure but yes i think that i would go. I know better than to think that the freedom i enjoy wasnt simply given to us. Even living in canada we fought our fair share so yes i think i would go over but it would take some thought
 
i wouldnt let them enlist me. i would much rather be a pilot.it takes nearly 5 years to be a fighter pilot but for a helicopter pilot slot the time and requirements are alot lower. i would try to do that. alot safer then being general infantry
 
I do too except for the fact that this all benefits the US. This is all in best intrerest of the US. I'm sure other countries have a lot of things we need to work on too. Like stopping other countries growth because we are too busy reaping their resources.

Yes I would fight. If the US did not wrongfully wage war, I would definately suppourt them. If it was for some bullshit reason, then I wouldn't. I think with a real war the US won't make the mistake of doing it just for benefit.
 
I wouldnt volenteer to be in the war, and if i got drafted i would move to canada. fuck going to war, 100k of the army are just pawns to be killed so that the gernals can say they rock because they killed 100k men and won this stupid war. fuck that

Whos trying to take our freedom? If this war started, then we would be fighting for Taiwan's freedom as the article says, "America has pledged it’s support for Taiwan, if fighting breaks out with China." This means nobody would be attacking America or our freedom.

My grand father would very very much say other wise. Ask the solders who fought if war is right......ask them if it is a good idea. They will be the FIRST to tell you war is wrong. The solders who VOLENTEERED for the millitary, and are fighting now, say war is WRONG. They will tell you they want to be at home and take care of their family. NOW WHERE THE FUCK DO YOU GET OFF ON SAYING SHIT LIKE THIS. THIS CROSSES THE FUCKING LINE. ya man ur a fuckin retard...war messes with ur head. my grandma said after my grandpa got home from world war 2 he started drinking more and was a totaly diferent person. he never talked about the war to anyone. he died when he was like 60 and never got to meet any of his grandkids because of war
 
i probably would. it scares the living crap out of me, and i hate the thought of it, but i would feel obligated. i would feel like it's my duty. but, it probably wouldn't even matter, since if another world war broke out i'm sure a draft would be reinstated.
 
dude the world does not have to end because of our ignorance......all we have to do is just say no to fighting. i would rather go to prison then fight in some stupid war like that. i see all this stuff on war, and none of this is for freedom, because people are opressed, or to make life better for other countries.
