Would working in California a year to get instate tuition be worth it?

k. Im going to bump this, because besides University of Idaho this is my one option. dont know if it would be good just start going to school and have that experience and get it out of the way and move on with life, or put it off longer and be somewhere really cool with more opportunities but probably be in more debt after graduation.

Sorry I keep posting all this stuff but Im having a hard time figuring it out and don't have anyone to bounce Ideas off

I'm actually considering doing the same thing, take a year of to get residence then go to school.

Considering living with family in Long Beach or finding a job on CoolWorks with housing

To OP- this is a good post listen to the advice.

Its all a mixed bag. I knew kids in college age 25 or so when I was 18 who we looked at like any other student since they were chill (and obviously could buy everyone beer.) And I knew a kid a couple years older than us who me and my friends found annoying and a dick rider.

Going to college and living in dorms does give you an immediate automatic group of friends. If you don't go that route just do something to compensate and meet more people like a frat or club since you will be missing out on that automatic group of people to pal around with.

Tahoe and Reno are good suggestions. BUt you should do what you can to integrate into groups. Don't expect friends to happen automatically.

I have been very bad at this in the Reno/Tahoe area. When I moved there age 22 after college I lived by UNR but didn't talk to my neighbors enough who were all students and made no friends who were UNR students in that complex I just worried about betting on sports and coaching a hs soccer team. Last 2 times I have lived there I have lived in the Casinos and mostly made casino friends in the sports book. But I am different and don't have a normal life and don't really ever leave the casinos unless its to go skiing or go to a different casino.

Make sure you set things up so you can meet as many people as possible.
