On the whole, I'd have to say earrings don't work as well as a ring, or if you think that's a bit risky, a bracelet. Just from what all my female friends tell me.

ok the title of the thread was a joke. if i had to pay $179 to get laid i would get a hooker. anyway i got a good deal. and they arnt grandmaish. opals are sick and i had another picture of them (more of a real life pic) and they look pretty nice. there not overly fancy, just a nice simple design. i hate big hoop earings, and these seem pretty nice. plus i love opals and white gold.. im just hoping she will. and these are not overly fancy, just something to wear when dressing up a bit. and shes 19, and no she doesnt do alot of ceo meetings. haha. anyway i went ahead and bought em because i like em and if she doesnt then ill return them.

yea those were pretty ugly. too big and tacky looking. not the kind of earings a 19 yr old would wear all the time, in my opinion.

personally i would prefer a ring over all other jewelery.

I like the second set you showed, although the last set of ear rings looked good as well. Shopping for jewelry (sp?) does suck. I thought the first set was kind of grandmaish and then read the posts that followed and so did everybody else so I think you got the message. Happy Holidays
