Worth it to have braces at my age?

im almost 19 yrs old and a freshman in college. braces would take 24-30 months for me. now my teeth arent horribly disfigured or anything but not straight by any means either. worth it?
 
i had them at a young age, but if i had to do it now, i would definitely look into invisalie or something similar
 
yes so worth it. even if you cant get invisaline, just get them anyways. the pros out weigh the cons by far
 
Im 19 also. My ortho wanted to put braces back on me and i told him to go to hell and didnt go back. Who really cares if your teeth are slightly off?
 
Worth it, you might have a little decline in the lady life for a little while, but it's worth it when you got a nice set o' pearls.
 
Worth it! and its better to get them now than wait because you still might be able to get them and be covered under you parents insurance! A persons smile is the first thing a lot of people notice and first impressions are important especially with interviews and such!
 
It depends on your situation. Is it just the teeth or do you also have an under/over-bite? I happen to be the lucky recipient of an under bite. Im 19 and will have to get braces once I graduate from college. My dentist and ortho told me that if i didn't do something to correct my bite, all my teeth would fall out by the time I was 50. Because by jaw doesn't align correctly, my teeth rub a lot in places they shouldn't, thus wearing away at the enamel faster than normal. So I do not have a choice.
You on the other hand may have a choice and I guess it just depends on what is more important: your smile that you will have for the rest of your life (hopefully), or not having braces in your college pictures haha.
 
john symms did it. i had to get braces put back on at 18 cuz i fucked my teeth up, id say do it, it is def worth it in the end.
 
i never had braces but i would say its worth is for years of good teeth but its way more then a week
 
I asked my mom if I could have them when I was 13 and she said no. Now my wisdom teeth are coming in and my whole mouth is going to get crowded and she's telling me I should get them. Thanks mom, told you that 5 years ago. I have an overbite and my doctors fix for this was pushing on it with popsicle sticks.
 
just tell everybody you wrecked your car during a dune rally in baja and got all your teeth knocked in so theyve got to be held in place while they heal back into position, that way you've got a cool excuse
 
it is worth it man. as everyone is saying the pros outweigh any cons, its a minor inconvenience for a major change that will last the rest of your life
 
i say nay, braces didn't work for me and all i did was cut the inside of my lip. if they arent super necessary dont get em cause them your just giving charity to super wealthy orthodontists
 
I'd say its worth it, i wish i would not have been such an idiot and got braces when i was like 14. My teeth are straight just my k9's dont have room to move in, but i'm getting my aligners (invisalign) this week. I'll have to wear them until I'm 19, but glad I'm getting them fixed.
 
my dads an orthodontist and theirs this new type of braces that have clear brackets so you cant really see them. all you can see is the wire which you need to be close to see. they're also a new type so they dont have to tighten them because of the technology. i have them on now and i haven't been in pain since i got them on. there only like 300 dollars more than regular braces aswell. id look into that.

Which is why I didn't get braces.

My teeth are fine. My dentist complements me on how clean my teeth are every 6 months when I go in for a cleaning. My teeth are white. All my teeth are sealed. I've had only one cavity in my life. I don't have wisdom teeth. I think I'm good.
 
Its really up to you, and how bad you're teeth are. I've had them now for just under 4 years with another 2-3 to go and I would say it was a good decision. I had teeth growing in over other ones, ones coming in backwards, my top teeth were on a slant, i had an overbite and my teeth came no where near being lined up. Obviously from those pictures you're situation doesn't look anywhere as bad as mine was. It sucks when you have them, but when my teeth are fucking pimp, it'll be completely worth it. If you do get them however, make sure you do what you're told to, i.e. wear elastics as much as you can or whatever else they make you wear. It will make it go faster. If you're worried about you're age, well i guess my question would be why? Some one might make fun? Who the fuck cares what other people think cause you know what the end result is going to be. I'd so go for it.
 
Get them, your teeth are not terrible but definitly not straight, after your done they will be perfect.

Plus they will prevent expensive, painfull, and annoying surgeries you will need later on in life.

And people don't even notice braces except maybe like the first day. When my friends all got their braces taken off I had no idea and I could never tell you who had braces and who didn't.

I had invisalign which is great but annoying becuase you have to take them off to eat everytime and they can get super dirty and some people notice them but if you have the funds then get invisalign over regular braces but there are pros and cons
